Nintendo has slashed the prices of "three of the best-selling and best-reviewed" Wii games in North America.
In a similar fashion to its 'Nintendo Selects' line, the platform holder has introduced a reduced $29.99 price tag on new copies of Super Mario Galaxy 2, New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Wii Sports Resort in US, starting today, September 6. "The new price represents one of the many steps Nintendo is taking to provide shoppers with the best value and variety across all its systems through the end of 2013," said Nintendo.
"Super Mario Galaxy 2 is tied with Super Mario Galaxy as one of the best-reviewed games of all time, with a Metacritic score of 97. To date the game has sold more than 2.7 million in the United States alone," it notes.
All Wii games can be played on the newer Wii U console by way of the Wii app on Wii U Home menu.
Nintendo of America has confirmed it will introduce a $50 Wii U price cut on September 20, while the firm will reportedly cut the UK trade price of Wii U by around £30 from October 4.
