It has taken a while to arrive, but finally we have the first 3DS emulator . The name of this emulator is Citra, and is written in C + + . It is quite a real breakthrough for the 3DS scene since quite facilitate homebrew development on this console . Furthermore, the possibility that the project remains unfinished is quite low, since the author has released the source code , licensed under GPLv2 , so we can modify the code to our liking, and collaborate on their development.

People who like racing games and platforms , this is your homebrew. Bunny Run is a game very simple , which, although scheduled with DS Game Maker , has nothing to envy to a commercial game. In this game we will be a white rabbit that will have to run and jump to avoid obstacles and win the race to the tortoise . Bunny Run we also find various types of Pawer-Ups that depends on what will help us or hinder us to win the game; giving that "special touch" to this great homebrew.

Nintendo will shine the spotlight on a 'new game for 3DS' at E3 with its very own press event.
The platform holder has begun inviting press to two Q&A events to take place during E3. One will focus on the highly anticipate all-star brawler, Super Smash Bros., while the other will apparently spotlight "A new game for 3DS".
While the firm offers no further information on the game, one can at least safely assume the firm would not host an entire event for anything less than a major title for the handheld.
The platform has already been graced with new games in the firm's top franchises, such as Mario Kart, Zelda, Super Mario and numerous others.
Nintendo recently permanently cut the prices of five flagship 3DS games. Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, New Super Mario Bros. 2, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D are now be available at retail and on the Nintendo eShop for $29.99 each, down from the usual $39.99 price.
US retailer Target is also currently selling Nintendo 2DS units for a mere $99 until Saturday, May 17.

Nintendo understands gameplay – but you sometimes have to look outside the company’s R&D labs to find developers that understand Nintendo. HAL gave us Super Smash Bros’s unashamedly vibrant celebration of all things Nintendo. Intelligent Systems crafted the wryly self-referental Mario & Luigi twinset. And when Amusement Vision was tasked with updating Shigeru Miyamoto’s futuristic racing franchise for GameCube, the result was F-Zero GX: a game clearly made for fans, by fans.GX (and its little-seen arcade twin AX) is fiercely loyal to its older brothers. The craft, quaintly reminiscent of the low-poly pastel models born of a previous generation’s technology, handle just as they did on Super Nintendo and N64. For beginners, it’s a nightmare: taking corners too fast sees your craft dragged by its behind into a race-scuppering trackside smash. But with practice it’s possible to forge a tangible bond with your machine – steering in graceful arcs that keep just the right side of skidding catastrophically out of control, boosting out of corners, thundering past competitors with neck-tightening precision. It’s Scalextric at 1,200kph. No other racing game comes close to evoking such a breathtaking feeling of just barely keeping control of a vehicle that’s going far, far too fast. Tracks aren’t so much driven as dreamed, with brutal 180-degree turns, sudden two-lane splits and cruelly placed speed strips pouring into your eyes that bit faster than it’s possible to consciously process. Over someone’s shoulders, it’s an incredible thing to watch. In the pilot’s seat, it’s frightening.Having 29 rivals – all expert drivers, all focused on smashing you off-course in anything but the beginner’s Standard Mode – turns F-Zero GX into a thrillingly anarchic motorway war, a proper jostling battle for pole position rather than a four-way fight. Your competitors cheat with magic boosts in traditional F-Zero style, of course, but that’s the secret of the game’s pounding relentlessness. Where every second is a potential overtaking opportunity for your enemies, every race won is a victory for eyes and fingers. And each craft has a unique balance of speed versus acceleration versus barging strength – so no single machine is ever truly odds-on favourite. Our F-Zero GX review said the GameCube title was better than the Nintendo-developed versions.
The tracks are spectacular. N64’s F-Zero X had scenery restricted to the odd 2D statue to keep the framerate up on the struggling 64bit machine, and couldn’t help but look limp next to its perceived rival – the cooler-than-thou PlayStation offering, Wipeout. In GX, Amusement Vision tweaked its Super Monkey Ball engine to push GameCube harder even than Nintendo itself, and transform F-Zero’s abstract tarmac ribbons into real places. Now, Mute City is a city, all blazing bridges and ghostly glowing billboards. Port Town is a port – with, apropos of nothing, much-maligned NES accessory ROB the robot looming over the ships and hotels. Craft cling treacherously to tube-like tracks looping over lava; Casino Town’s psychedelic neon whips past at 1,500kph; towering ramps send the craft soaring over Aeropolis like a sychronised diving team.

It's a steady week on the eShop ahead of this month's big kahuna - that's Mario Kart 8, by the way - but there are games that may pique your interest. Scram Kitty and his Buddy on Rails is an unusual shoot-em-up in that you move by scrolling along magnetic rails on the walls - oh, and you're shooting mechanized rats while trying to save all the world's cats. It's out for the Wii U this week, while Wii Party U gets a belated eShop release too.
Over on the handheld, there's the debut of Renegade Kid's enhanced episodic remake of Moon Chronicles (the first episode's priced $9 while the upcoming three chapters are $2 each). Also, Capcom's Mega May continues with Game Boy platformer Mega Man 4.
Don't forget Atlus is discounting the two Etrian Odyssey games on 3DS at $20 each, and that sale ends on Monday, May 19. On the same day, a new one starts for Code of Princess and Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor Overclocked, down to $15 each until June 5.

Today's roster addition is one of several female character options introduced in the latest Super Smash Bros. series entry. Nintendo previously announced that players will be able to play as both male and femaleWii Fit Trainers, and Super Mario Galaxy's Rosalina also made the cut recently.
Super Smash Bros. will launch for the Nintendo 3DS this summer, and a Wii U release will follow in the winter.

[Anton] recently acquired a broken Nintendo 3DS. When the power button was pressed, the device would start booting up only to shut back down after flashing a blue light and making a popping sound. It turns out this problem is pretty common with the 3DS.
[Anton] could have tossed this device into the landfill, but where’s the fun in that? Instead, he cracked the device open like any self-respecting hacker would. It didn’t take him long to discover two broken flex ribbon cables. [Anton] could have then searched for replacement cables, but his inner hacker told him he could repair this himself. He carefully scraped the insulation off of the broken traces and then soldered on some hair thin wires to bridge the gap.
All that was left to do was to glue the wires securely in place and feed them back through the hinges. This project is a great example of how a little determination and know-how can keep a useful device from the landfill. If you attempt this repair yourself, you may find this 3DS teardown to be a helpful reference. What devices have you been able to save from an untimely demise?

Fast food giant McDonalds says its latest Happy Meal campaign is using Super Mario to help kids keep fit.
Video games and fast food have long been in the crosshairs of health experts crediting both with the rapidly increasing level of obesity amongst UK children.
But McDonalds told MCV it opted to team up with Nintendo and Mario in an attempt to actually tackle the issue and promote wellbeing.
“The Run, Jump and Power-Up with Super Mario promotion inspired children to get active using some of Mario’s moves,” a McDonalds spokesperson told MCV.
“We teamed up with Nintendo UK to encourage children to get active with a Happy Meal promotion featuring some of its most famous characters. Kids were encouraged to run, jump and complete active tasks set out by Mario and friends both on the Happy Meal box itself and with free in-store activities.”
McDonald Happy Meals have become a popular promotion point for kids games firms in recent months. In the US, Skylanders and Pokémon toys and artwork have featured in the packs.
“Each of our Happy Meal promotions is different, but importantly each aims to encourage balanced food choice, promote well-being or have educational messages.”

May 15th, 2014, 23:50 Posted By: wraggster
There seems to have been two main reactions to Nintendo’s recent annual loss of $456m. The most prominent is that these huge losses suggest Nintendo’s time is up.
‘Nintendo is over,’ was what one prominent business journalist said on Twitter.
It’s not true. For all its financial miscalculations, Nintendo’s main software brands remain robust. Pokémon X and Y sold 12.26m units alone, making it one of the best-selling boxed products of the year across all platforms, while the Mario franchise sold around 15m games over the last financial year. These numbers alone point to a company that remains popular despite the failure of its latest console.
The other reaction is just as inaccurate: the idea that Nintendo has such deep pockets that it can afford to make these financial losses. No company can afford to report numbers like this, and if it carries on in this way it will run out of its cash reserves within the next five to ten years.
The suggestions on how Nintendo can turn around its business have been numerous, and we’re not about to make any here. Yes, launching a new blockbuster IP or console are probably the best options, but Nintendo’s problems are immediate and you cannot comfortably turn around a new killer product in the modern games industry in 12 months.
The same applies to cutting the price of Wii U. Retailers told MCV last week that Wii U’s price is simply too high, and it’s hard to disagree. But cutting the price is not a certain fix, and with the company hemorrhaging money it would take a brave CEO to take such action. Nintendo’s immediate problem is short-term: How does it turn its current losses into a profit using the tools and hardware it has already developed?
For all its financial miscalculations, Nintendo’s
main software brands remain robust. Pokémon
X and Y sold 12.26m units alone, making it one
of the best-selling boxed products of the year
across all platforms, while the Mario franchise
sold around 15m games over the last financial
year. These numbers alone point to a company
that remains popular despite the failure of its
latest console. The platform holder has talked about ramping up the licensing of its big brands and pushing into emerging markets. And we can expect a few more small games, re-releases and remakes to hit the market too. GBA and DS games are being ported to Wii U, and the firm has announced a new Pokémon remake to launch this Q4 on 3DS.
Yet the biggest bet Nintendo appears to be making is by following Skylanders and Disney Infinity into the toys-to-life genre.
The NFC Featured Platform or Nintendo Figurine Platform (NFP) is for both Wii U and 3DS. The latter will require its own piece of hardware, and Nintendo is developing toys and multiple games.
“What is especially unique about NFP is that it is not classed as an accessory product of a certain software title but as a platform itself,” Nintendo CEO Satoru Iwata said in a briefing. “The figurines are going to work with multiple software titles to be released in the future, and we are aiming to develop more software compatible with the figurines.
“Nintendo has a lot of well-known character IP that has originated in video games. This is why I believe a brand-new type of platform will be born when the character IP becomes compatible with NFP. At E3, we will announce which titles are compatible with NFP, display NFP products and disclose specific information about NFP, which will be launched during this year-end sales season.”

Electronics firm Philips has asked the Delaware courts to force Nintendo to stop selling Wii U in the US.
The demand is part of a lawsuit, as reported by Game Informer, in which Philips is claiming that Nintendo’s console and some of its accessories have infringed two of its motion control patents.
Specifically, it draws issue with tech that “models a user’s body in a virtual environment by animating a virtual body to follow the physical movements of the user” arguing that it infringes on its “Virtual Body Control Device” and “User Interface System Based on Pointing Device” patents.
This tech can apparently be found in the Wii U, Wii U Gamepad, Wii and Wii Remote.
It also claims that Nintendo was made aware of the infringement as early as December 2011 and demands that an injunction is placed on the further importing and sale of all affected devices until the issue is resolved.

The Pokemon Company officially unveiled The Thieves and the 1,000 Pokemonfor Japan, a 3DS eShop game that intertwines the series' critter-capturing with the system's StreetPass functionality. Players find and collect sticker-like versions of Pokemon using StreetPass, and then use their army of pocket monsters to take down thieves and retrieve their stolen loot.
The game will be available for free in Japan between June 5 and September 30 - there's no word on whether or not it includes any in-app purchases. As for a Western release, while Pokemon games tend to make their way overseas, this one may take a while.
The Thieves and the 1,000 Pokemon features characters and promotions tied to the new film, Pokemon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction. The film hits Japan on July 19, and while it's likely to receive a Western release, going by previous films it'll take a few months at least. So if the game is going to get a Western release, it seems likely it won't be at the same time as Japan.

Nintendo turned on the nitros with the new Wii U bundle for Mario Kart 8, not forgetting how every copy of the racer bundles in a code for a free game. Good thing, then, MK8 itself is a 4.5 stars winner according to Joystiq's Thomas Schulenberg. From his review:
"Despite an unfortunate change to its battle mode, MK8 is a solid extra lap on a series with a great foundation. The gravity-shifting sections spliced into existing and new tracks feel like a natural extension of the series rather than a gameplay-changing revelation, but it's a strong complement to an already enjoyable experience. The social features are surprisingly solid and may even outlive the total course selection, but it helps that the new tracks feel as worthy of a revisit as the series' standouts."

Nintendo of America has released Mario Kart 8 commercials showing off the new Boomerang and Super Horn power-ups.
As noted in our recent Mario Kart 8 preview, the former serves as an interesting alternative to the green shell, offering players three chances to hit enemies.
Meanwhile, the Super Horn offers players the chance to destroy the infuriating Blue Shell, which now slides along the ground, taking out numerous enemies before rising into the air and slamming down on its first-placed target.

Nintendo has released 3DS system update 7.2.0-17 in Europe and North America.
The company says the update introduces the new parental controls feature detailed below, while improving system stability.
[h=3]New Parental Controls feature[/h] - You can now register an email address to which a master key can be sent. If you forget your PIN and the answer to your secret question at a later point, a master key to reset your PIN can be sent to the email address you have registered. Please make sure to use an email address that only parents or guardians can access, to prevent children from seeing the master key that is sent.
[h=3]System stability improvements and other adjustments[/h] - Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user's experience.
Last week Nintendo reported a net loss for the financial year ended in March 2014 following weaker than expected Wii U and 3DS sales.
Shortly after, it announced a new near field communication platform for Wii U and 3DS called Nintendo Figurine Platform.
Nintendo will reveal a number of NFP compatible games at E3 in June, and plans to release character figurines with built-in NFC functionality beginning this Christmas season. NFP will be compatible with Wii U software from the end of 2014, and with 3DS titles from next year.
The platform holder also hopes to boost 3DS sales with the release ofnewly announced Pokémon Ruby & Sapphire remakes, which will launch worldwide in November 2014.

Company expecting Quality of Life initiative to launch next year, Wii U's best days still ahead of it
[h=3]Nintendo[/h]nintendo-europe.com
With the Wii U posting year-over-year declines in unit sales for its first full year on shelves, Nintendo investors had a lot of questions about new hardware in their post-earnings Q&A with company president Satoru Iwata. In an English translation of the eventnewly released by Nintendo, Iwata addressed both the company's nebulously defined Quality of Life initiative, as well as its eventual successor to the Wii U.
When asked about the company's priorities in the mid-term, Iwata mentioned the new Quality of Life platform, saying he would be ready to talk about it more specifically this year, with the actual deployment of the idea happening sometime in the company's next fiscal year, which runs from April of 2015 through March of 2016. Iwata also teased another new rollout from the company slightly further out on the calendar.
"[T]he idea I mentioned about redefining the definition of video game platforms will also require approximately two years," Iwata said. "This is how we would like to talk more about our mid-term measures and lead them to actual results. However, we will not be able to create a good environment for the company unless projects are undertaken simultaneously, so this is the kind of timeframe that we have in mind."
Iwata also sought to alleviate concerns about the Wii U's eventual successor, saying Nintendo already had a rough idea of where it would be going with the system. However, it's in no rush to get there because it still needs to do right by existing Wii U owners.
"I can certainly assure you that we are not at a dead end of any kind in which we are out of ideas for developing new hardware," Iwata said. "I of course believe that launching new hardware will not produce good results unless we first make sure that those who have already purchased our platforms are satisfied. We will continue to work hard to ensure that consumers who already own our platforms are satisfied, and make sure that people will continue to see great value in our software, but I would like to say that we are preparing for our next hardware system, and in fact, we already have a clear idea to some extent about the direction our next hardware is going to take."
That isn't to say Nintendo has given up on the Wii U and is just trying to hit some minimum threshold of satisfaction, either. When asked about Nintendo's Wii U sales forecast for the coming year, a modest 3.6 million systems, Iwata said that isn't expected to represent peak sales, and there is still hope for the system to far surpass that number.
"The fate of a video game system is often influenced greatly by the introduction of a single title," Iwata said. "As many of you probably remember, before the release of the Pokémon game, Game Boy had been showing slow growth, and many people wondered whether it was the end of Game Boy. But the Pokémon game singlehandedly changed the landscape of the system, which then started to show the strongest sales in the lifecycle of the system."

Satoru Iwata has confirmed to investor that the company already knows what it has planned for its follow-up to the struggling Wii U.
“We are preparing for our next hardware system,” the Nintendo president told investors. “In fact, we already have a clear idea to some extent about the direction our next hardware is going to take.
“Once we launch a new platform, we naturally start to prepare for the next one. As it takes several years to develop a single platform, if you ask us whether we are preparing for our next system, then the correct response will be that we are always developing new hardware.
“On the other hand, the most difficult question for us to answer in public in concrete terms is when we are going to launch our new hardware and what kind of hardware we are going to launch, and I am afraid that I cannot talk about this in more detail.”
There were words of reassurance for existing Wii U owners, however.
“We will continue to work hard to ensure that consumers who already own our platforms are satisfied, and make sure that people will continue to see great value in our software,” he added.
“I can certainly assure you that we are not at a dead end of any kind in which we are out of ideas for developing new hardware. I of course believe that launching new hardware will not produce good results unless we first make sure that those who have already purchased our platforms are satisfied.”
