Just posted this news of interest for DoomDS Fans:
Doom64 DS Status
Lastly, the DS port. The game is fully playable from start to finish but a lot of the menu options and other little features is incomplete. Also most of the game’s content is unoptimized. Due to low interest in homebrew DS in the community, I have not bothered to move forward with this port but I do intend on releasing Doom64 DS in its current state sometime this month.
So there you have it, I could of spent more time getting tutorials ready (especially for scripting) but I felt that you folks waited too long for this release so I decided to get these out the door now. I will continue to make updates to the wiki whenever I have time.

Mutant Mudds just came out on PC with new content, including extra difficult new levels. That content will be released on 3DS as a free update for the eShop release of that game, Renegade Kid director Jools Watsham revealed on his blog this week.
In addition, he also let slip that Renegade Kid is a licensed Wii U developer. "As we're being perfectly – and frankly – honest here; I would like to put the majority of our future development efforts into the 3DS eShop and Wii U eShop titles (we're authorized Wii U developers now btw – excite!)," he said.
Strangely, all of this information about Renegade Kid's primarily Nintendo-oriented plans comes from a post entreating fans to vote for the PC version ofMutant Mudds on Steam Greenlight. "Porting Mutant Mudds to the PC, and selling it on Steam, has the potential of bringing some much needed funds into Renegade Kid," Watsham notes, "which will go straight into the development of new games." And that's good for PC, 3DS, and Wii U owners.

Straight Right, the developer BioWare has tasked to bring Mass Effect 3 to Wii U, has two other game in development for Nintendo's new console.
Straight Right boss Tom Crago confirmed as much in a chat with Eurogamer, pledging major support for the new console."We've made a number of bets on the Wii U, so we're certainly hoping that the platform comes strongly out of the gate," said Crago. "
"We've got two other titles in development," he went on to confirm. "One of them is original, our own IP, and another is based on another big franchise that will come out in 2013. It's a big title and you will have heard of it," Crago added.
Another remake possibly? While we don't wish for too many PS3/Xbox remakes on Wii U, if you had to choose another which would it be?

When you set up a network connection trough the wii's system menu, if there's no internet access the connection can't be used, so if you don't have internet access from your wii you can't use networking features of applications like WiiMC, ftpii, wiiload...So this application, based on the code of fstoolbox for nand access will allow you to enable and set one of the 3 connections as default, meaning you can use networking without internet access.
Warning: this application writes to the nand, it has been tested on my wii without problems, it -should- be as trustable as fstoolbox is.

A GameCube Memory Card manager.GameCube/Wii Memory Manager is an application to backup Nintendo GameCube savegames.
Gcmm is a project started by dsbomb and justb, which is based on Askot's modification to add SD support to the mcbackup libogc example.
I (suloku) have updated the code to newest libraries to port it to the Wii system, and what I find more important: restoring savegames now works properly.
[What's New 1.2c - september 06, 2012 - By suloku]
- Raw backups are now named with the number of blocks: insted of Backup_*timestamp*.raw now it is 0059b_*timestamp.raw, 2043b_*timestamp.raw...
- Minor code changes (just for safety)

Mass Effect 3 Wii U developer Straight Right has an unenviable task. The Australian studio is BioWare's go-to team for relaunching the critically-acclaimed Mass Effect 3 on new hardware, with all-new controls and all for an as-yet untested market. So what was the mood within the developer, as the team embark on Mass Effect 3 Wii U's home stretch?"We're very conscious of not wanting to mess up," Straight Right boss Tom Crago explained to Eurogamer, "given the level of expectation and the fact that we're taking something which, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 and PC, was exceptionally good.""You look at the game and think 'how could I possibly make this better?' The Wii U gives you that opportunity with the GamePad. But first and foremost you say, 'well, I don't want to screw this up'."You want to replicate the experience on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 as sympathetically as possible. But then you say, 'how can I enhance this experience?'. We tried to get the game looking great and singing on Wii U, and then use the GamePad to complement this."The space-opera's new touch-screen controls allow players to see a map of their immediate surroundings, with squadmates and enemies highlighted. Players can also quickly select powers to use in battle, or play the entire game on the GamePad tablet. With a last layer of polish to add, Crago expects Mass Effect 3 to be ready for the Wii U launch - whenever that will be.Mass Effect 3 on Wii U.
"It's going to be a launch title, but of course we don't know quite yet when the hardware will launch. We intend to be there that same day."It's far from a rushed project, either. Straight Right has had over a year to get used to the Wii U's hardware and touch-screen controller - work began months before Mass Effect 3 ever saw light of day on other platforms."It's challenging", Crago said of meeting the unannounced Wii U release date, but added the team was used to working to such challenges with unreleased hardware."First and foremost you say, 'well, I don't want to screw this up'."Tom Crago, Straight Right CEO
While Straight Right is a fairly new company, it benefits from working alongside sister outfit Tantalus, a veteran of the Australian game development scene. Established in 1994, it has worked on 30 games with names such as Sega Japan, Psygnosis and Midway. That isn't to reduce the scale of the Wii U Mass Effect 3 project, Crago explained."This is the biggest title we've worked on in a long time. There's a significant technical challenge bringing the game from its original format to the Wii U. It's a new, different and sophisticated piece of hardware, so there's a good deal of technical energy that's been expended making that happen."Its looks are "just as good" as the other console versions, he added.Straight Right has no bad words for the hardware - something which isn't too surprising when Crago mentions the company is already at work on two other Wii U projects."We've made a number of bets on the Wii U, so we're certainly hoping that the platform comes strongly out of the gate. We've got two other titles in development."One of them is original, our own IP, and another is based on another big franchise that will come out in 2013. It's a big title and you will have heard of it," he teased.

The SNES version of Prince of Persia arrives on the Virtual Console in North America. We'd forgotten this was happening in the interim between theDecember ESRB rating and today, so this is, like every Wii Virtual Console release, a pleasant and unexpected surprise.
Speaking of surprises, DSiWare's Crazy Hunter is about a crocodile building a goat tower to reach the sky, in order to capture hens who lay golden eggs. It gets weirder from there, actually.

via Video Gamer
The Wii U version of Ghost Recon Online has been put "on hold", Ubisoft has confirmed.
Talking to VideoGamer.com earlier today, Ghost Recon Online's producer Theo Sanders revealed that development of the Wii U version had ceased to offer the team the opportunity to focus "completely on the PC version".
"As of right now, the entire Ghost Recon team is focused on the PC version only," Sanders revealed. "The Wii U version is on hold.
"If in the future we have an opportunity to address it again, we'll make future announcements. But as of right now we're focused completely on the PC version."
The decision to cease development of the Wii U version was not made in reaction to Nintendo's online plans for the console, Sanders added.
"It's not a reaction to anything specific happening to [Wii U]," he continued. "It was a really fun, cool platform to develop for. But you realise once you launch an online service that it's an all-consuming effort, so we really wanted to have all hands on deck. It was the same dev team working on both SKUs, and [we] really wanted to focus on doing the PC version right.
"I'm not really in a position to talk about the Wii U, but our particular choice for Ghost Recon Online was purely based on the fact that we had one dev team working on both SKUs and it was an all-consuming effort with the PC launch. It's tough launching an online game."
The Wii U version of Ghost Recon Online had been in development at Ubisoft Shanghai in tandem with the PC version.
The game was announced for Wii U during Nintendo's E3 conference last year.
However, the game could potentially see a release on consoles in the future, Sanders revealed.
"It's hard to say how the future will go for Ghost Recon Online," he continued. "I think in the future as different platforms evolve towards service models and towards being really online-driven, community-driven platforms, then we'll definitely be looking at what our options are.
"I think it's one of the strengths of the PC platform and I believe it's something that all console manufacturers understand to be a strength of the PC platform, and will definitely be looking for interesting and innovative ways to bring their own experiences to."
An open beta for Ghost Recon Online launched on PC last month.
Wii U is due to launch this holiday.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3DS has finally gotten its release date. Starting October 16, Atari will put roller coasters all up in your face and allow you to build and trade parks via StreetPass. Europe and Australasia will get their turn on October 26.
The 3DS Rollercoaster Tycoon game has been something of a mystery. Initially announced as a 2012 release, it was quiet for most of the year, with developer n-Space offering no indication of an official launch date as recently as July.
The 3DS game features first-person coaster rides, of course, as well as a new "Coaster Story" mode that takes players through both tutorials and challenges wrapped up into a narrative.

September 5th, 2012, 21:47 Posted By: wraggster
The Legend Of Zelda series will be released for Wii U in 2014, a Nintendo Japan source claims, adding that Link's Wii U debut is being developed by the biggest team ever to work on a Nintendo game.
Speaking to Wii U Daily, the source - who spoke on condition of anonymity but seems reliable, having previously revealed in advance Wii U's achievement system and that Nintendo was working on a social network of sorts, which turned out to beMiiverse - claims that the game's visual style will closely resemble that of Wii swansong Skyward Sword.
"Nintendo is sticking to the core values of Zelda, while trying to appeal to a wide range of gamers, casual and hardcore [alike]," the source said. "They feel they've found the sweet spot with Skyward Sword, and they're continuing this approach with the Wii U Zeldagame."
"Hundreds" of people are working on the game, which will have been in development for four years by the time it appears on shelves. Development is being led by Skyward Sword director Eiji Aonuma.
"It'll end up being the most expensive game they've made to date," the source claims. "It's a huge investment for [Nintendo] in money and manpower - this is Rockstar/GTA territory."
The source puts that claim in context by adding that the first test dungeon Nintendo produced, which was set in a forest and ran on early, buggy Wii U hardware, was "bigger than Hyrule Field inOcarina [Of Time]… Its scope and details are unlike anything you've seen in a Zelda game."
While Miiverse will be used to let players leave hints for one another, online multiplayer was never part of Nintendo's plan; despite Wii U's greater emphasis on online functionality, it is sticking resolutely to Zelda's long-established gameplay template. The principal advances, it appears, will be visual.
"They're using a new, state of the art engine that's being built from the ground up in parallel with the game," the source claims. "It's got the most advanced visual features Nintendo has ever made, and includes a lot of thirdparty tech like Havok for physics and rendering middleware from Umbra."
It's little surprise that Nintendo is also ensuring that Zelda makes convincing and unique use of the Wii U's GamePad controller and its built-in screen. "It'll have some [revolutionary] gameplay. It has stuff that would never be possible on any console, and it's not just one cool feature, it's one cool feature after another.
"Each dungeon will offer a different gameplay experience with the tablet controller. It'll be the most innovative game ever - they've got stuff that will be copied by others for years."
Not much of this is surprising; a Zelda game on Wii U was always a given, and designing it as a showcase of the GamePad's capabilities is a continuation of a strategy Nintendo has had in place since the launch of DS in 2004.
But it's the scale that appeals the most, with a huge development team supported by some of the most respected middleware companies in the business. The prospect of dungeons of such scope and size is intriguing, and the source's claims - if genuine, of course - will do much to reignite interest in Wii U after Nintendo's disappointing E3 conference.

Ace Attorney 5 is headed to 3DS and will be playable at the Tokyo Game Show later this month, according to Japanese magazine Famitsu.
Andriasang brings word that a 15-minute demo will be on the show floor at TGS, which kicks off on September 19. Phoenix Wright returns as the lead character in a game set one year after the events of Ace Attorney 4 and will be joined, Famitsu says, by a mysterious girl in yellow.
Series director Shu Takumi, however, is not involved - he's busy with Level-5 collaboration Professor Layton Vs Ace Attorney. Motohide Eshiro, producer of DS RPG Okamiden, is the game's producer, with Takeshi Yamazaki serving as scenario director and music by Noriyuki Iwadare, composer on Ace Attorney: Trials And Tribulations and Kid Icarus: Uprising.

According to yet another Wii U release date rumour, Nintendo's new console will be out in US on November 11 for a base price of $249.99.
The source is a supposed listing on the login-assess-only site of VPD - Video Product Distributors, who has Amazon among its distribution clients.Interestingly, the listing snapshot (pictured, viaGoNintendo), shows three release SKUs priced at $249.99, $299.99 and $349.99.
Could Nintendo be offering gamers the option to bundle more than one Gamepad controller with higher-priced Wii U packages? We hope so.
This isn't the first time the console's been tipped for a November launch. Gaming accessory maker PDP apparently leaked a November 18 North American release date for the Wii U during a GameStop managers' conference, where they were detailing upcoming products, but has since moved to curb the spreading rumour, calling it 'a misunderstanding'.
Predictably, Nintendo is blocking its ears and humming loudly in response to the barrage of Wii U release rumours.
Nintendo will host a Wii U-focused press event in New York City on September 13, at which a US Wii U release date announcement is expected.

There are some who are of the opinion that Sony’s biggest mistake was not having a Dragon Quest, Final Fantasy or Monster Hunter game ready for Vita’s Japanese launch.
And that’s not a mistake that Nintendo intends to make.
Andriasang reports that Square Enix will take to the Tokyo Game Show stage later this month and unveil new details of its Monster Hunter game for Nintendo’s Wii U, which itself will be out before the end of the year.
Specifically, the Wii U title will be a port Dragon Quest X.
While Dragon Quest remains quite a nice title in Western market, it Japan it ranks alongside the likes of Monster Hunter and Final Fantasy in the most triple of triple-A franchises.
Gaining early traction in Nintendo’s strongest territory remains Wii U’s best prospect. With the games market undergoing a dramatic shift to smartphone and tablet gaming, as well as free-to-play models, valid questions remain about the very viability of a new console generation.
Nintendo can no longer be certain about the popularity of its hardware outside of Japan, so ensuring a quickly success in its home country will at least support third party confidence and hopefully allow the Wii U ball juggernaut to begin chugging.

Today ive also found time to update our WiiU site, Obviously until its released we wont know all the Games and accessories but using Amazon.com we have put links to all the main games that are due to be released on the follow up to the Nintendo Wii. Also both versions of the WiiU Console have been linked to.
With the WiiU Nintendo will be hoping to replicate the massive success of the early days of the Nintendo Wii and with the Tablet controller youll get iPad like controls but also conventional controls. Its sure going to be very interesting to see how they fully utilise the Tablet pad. Personally i think the console could become the RTS Dream Console, but like always we will have to wait and see how powerful it is and the quality of the games released and being written for it.
Anyway before i bore you to death check out our WiiU News site here --> http://wiiu.dcemu.co.uk/ for the latest in WiiU News and releases.
