It's time once again for a brand new Cemu update! The newly released version of the popular Wii U emulator, 1.15.19 to be precise, introduces some rather interesting account management-related features. Accounts behave very much like on a real Wii U, and that means they will each have separate save files for every game: a feature that can prove to be useful if you wish to have multiple saves in a game that doesn't provide different slots or if you share your computer with other people. A new tab has been added to the emulator's "General settings" window where you can create, edit, delete and switch between different accounts, however, if you think getting into the settings every time to change the active user profile is tedious, a sub-menu that lets you do just that in a much quicker way has also been added in the "Options" menu. On a last note, this system is compatible with accounts created on a physical Wii U console too, so you can also dump and use them in Cemu if you wish to do so!
As usual, a couple of minor bug fixes have been included as well. You can read more about them in the official changelog:
Quoted from Official changelog: # Cemu detailed changelog for 1.15.19
# Patreon release date: 2019-11-15
# Public release date: 2019-11-22
general: Added account management
- You can create and delete accounts in the general settings
- The currently selected account can be changed in the settings or via a shortcut in the menu
- Each account has separate save files
- Compatible with accounts dumped from a Wii U
general: Game list entries can now be renamed (#208)
general: Fixed a bug where game list entries would not be remembered if Cemu was closed right after refreshing the list
RPL: Fixed a rare memory corruption that could lead to crashes when any game was launched
Note:
(#xx) refers to bug tracker issues resolved by this change. See http://bugs.cemu.info/projects/cemu/

The pop-up Pokémon store will return to London for the Pokémon World Championships next year.
According to The Pokémon Company, more than 30,000 people visited the pop-up store at the Westfield Shopping Centre during the four weeks it was open. It was open throughout October, to coincide with the launch of Pokémon Sword and Shield.
While the specific venue for the Pokémon World Championships has yet to be confirmed, The Pokémon Company said that the store would be onsite for the event.

In many regards, the problem that developers of Pokémon games face is one that other developers would give their right arm for. They are working on a franchise that has done a remarkable job of holding its audience and its cultural relevance for decades, mixing a slow and careful evolution of the core games with more bold moves in other media and companion games (the most notable, of course, being Pokémon Go) in a way that has effectively retained older players while continually bringing younger players into the fold.
That's a remarkable legacy, but it does create challenges of its own -- not least of them being, with a major series overhaul like Pokémon Sword and Shield, the question of how to ensure the series meets the demands of those very disparate audiences, from adults who first played Pokémon in the '90s to tweens who'll encounter it for the first time with this game."All those people who have played Pokémon games since the '90s have grown up and gone in different directions in terms of their tastes"
What makes this particularly tricky is that we're not talking about a binary split in the audience between adults and kids. That rather misleading over-simplification has done the rounds over the past week, as a small but vocal group of adult fans have taken issue with a number of perceived issues with the new games, from complaints about graphical fidelity to annoyance at the decision to prune back the increasingly long list of creatures which has grown with each game in the series to date. These supposed flaws and others are occasionally blamed upon, or explained away by, the primary focus of the series being children -- with Nintendo and developer Game Freak thus deprioritising things that the adult audience finds important.
That's not entirely the case, though, because the reality is that the "adult audience" for a game like this is not one monolithic group. The real complexity, and challenge, lies in the fact that there are many different and diverse audiences encompassed in that simplistic term, because all those people who have played Pokémon games since the '90s have grown up and gone in quite different directions in terms of their tastes, preferences and gaming habits.
Some of them, perhaps even most, are fairly casually engaged with games overall, don't play many console games and will buy a new Pokémon title for a nostalgia hit - or perhaps even to introduce their own kids to the franchise. Some are just core fans of the franchise who buy each installment and make it a key part of their gaming identity; and others still have migrated into 'core' gaming (with all that entails) while still wanting to engage with Pokémon for nostalgia, or to revisit the formative role it played in their interests. There's a wide and varied spectrum between all of those points, with many players falling in every imaginable position along it.

Nintendo Switch console sales have jumped in the UK as Pokémon Sword and Shield become the fastest-selling Switch game so far.
Retail data shared with GamesIndustry.biz states that Switch hardware sales rose more than 30% during the release of Pokémon Sword and Shield. The spike also coincides with increased retail activity around Switch consoles, with hardware sales spiking 75% the week previously. Overall, almost 90,000 Switch machines have been sold in the UK so far this month.
Interestingly, it isn't the new special edition Pokémon Sword and Shield Switch Lite that is driving sales, but actually the 'normal' Switch console with the improved battery life.

Recently, it’s become quite a common occurrence that when a Switch game is released, it can already boot and get in-game on emulators for the console.
The latest games in this trend are Pokémon Sword and Shield, two games released yesterday, which are in-game on both Yuzu and Ryujinx with much better results in the former as it’s seeing much more development going into it. According to a tweet by Yuzu’s team, the game gets in-game and seems to be rendering pretty well but a few bugs need to be fixed before the title is fully playable. However, this hasn’t detracted people from trying it on their own machine and by YouTube channel ‘Danzel SH’ shows promising results, especially in battles, on an i5-8400 with a GTX 1060 3GB VRAM!
Other than showing promising results when emulated, these games already earned save editing support thanks to an update to PKHeX which was made possible thanks to help by SciresM and sora10pls. In the most recent 19/11/15 release, the following features are supported for Sword/Shield:
- Initial Legality Checking – this is still experimental
- Bag Editing
- Pokédex Editing
- Trainer Info Editing
Other than support for the Sword/Shield games, the latest release also received numerous bug fixes and .NET Core 3 support in WinForms builds so it’s still recommended you update if you use it for editing the save files of other games.
To grab the latest version of PKHeX and make the Pokemon Sword/Shield a tad easier, check out this link. To use modded save files, your Switch obviously needs to be hacked!

Around two weeks ago, GaryOPA wrote a post on his website MaxConsole and on the frontpage of GBATemp that Team Xecuter had been able to hack newer Switch units (ipatched & mariko) and the Switch Lite.
However, this revelation still has no tangible proof associated with it other than the words of a Team Xecuter trusted reseller so its credibility is in a grey-area even though a GBATemp administrator received confirmation from SX Team that their hack is indeed real.
Now, more information has been made available (GBATemp/MaxConsoles) regarding this relevation/rumour but this time it’s from MaxConsole News Team member ‘ub3r1337’ and it states that Team Xecuter’s upcoming hack comes in the form of a hardware mod with two variants being available, one for Classic units (original, ipatched and mariko) and another for the Switch Lite. Furthermore, some important points about the nature of the hardware mod were revealed which include:
- The hardware mod needs to be installed on the Switch’s motherboard and indications are showing that some degree of soldering will be required. Some websites like DG Chips are already taking pre-orders for the upcoming hardware mod meaning that a release might not be too far off
- However, Team Xecuter ‘held back from claiming [that] it’s fully solder-less’ meaning that the hardware mod for Classic units might allow for a solder-less installation although this is said not to be recommended
- According to ub3r1337, the Classic variant of the hardware mod is ‘probably under production and should be available soon’ meaning that Team Xecuter might come up with an official announcement in the coming weeks
- When it comes to an ETA, Team Xecuter refused to give an estimate although GBATemp user ‘Diogo097’ contacted a TX reseller who claimed that the hardware mod should be released by January 2020
- Some resellers including DGChips and MOD3DSCard are already taking pre-orders for the hardware mod lending a somewhat higher degree of credibility to the whole story
Like the initial revelation, it must be noted that no tangible proof of the hack or hardware mod are currently available. Unfortunately, ub3r1337 wasn’t allowed to take any pictures or videos so until now, it’s still recommended to treat this news item with caution and still view it as a RUMOUR.

Libbet and the Magic Floor is a puzzle game for Game Boy by Damian Yerrick. The game is open source!
One day, Libbet was rearranging her basement when she discovered a passage to an empty hall whose floor had a peculiar pattern. She rolled in to investigate.
The floor tiles have four shades. Libbet can roll or jump between tiles of the same shade. She can also roll or jump onto the next brighter shade or from white to black, which leaves a track. Tiles with no exits contain a trap door that leads to the entrance. Leave 90 percent of possible tracks and roll to the exit to win.
This is a port of Martin Korth‘s game Magic Floor to the Game Boy compact video game system, introducing Libbet the boulder girl.

CleanRip is a Gamecube and Wii optical disc backup tool for the Nintendo Wii.
The "Clean" in CleanRip comes from the fact that this tool does not require nor utilize any custom IOS (cIOS). It simply requires that you have the latest Homebrew Channel (HBC) installed. Also, if it finds that IOS58 is installed, you will be able to rip discs at USB 2.0 speeds.

The devs promised an update shortly after the new games' release and they have kept their word! PKHeX now sports experimental support for the latest Pokémon titles on the Nintendo Switch, Sword and Shield: not only all your usual Pokémon genning and modification functions are in, but Pokédex, Item and Trainer Info editing are there as well. An initial legality checker for 8th gen species is also included!
People who have already messed around with their Pokémon likely need no introduction to PKHeX, however, if it's the first time you hear about it, this tool can be described as a PC based general-purpose save editor for the series' games. All mainline titles are supported, from Gen I all the way to VIII, including LGPE. Its usage is simple: you only need to obtain your game's save file (emulators and consoles are both supported, you will need to use a dumper if playing on the former) and open it in the program, then you'll be greeted with a UI that can be described as an amped-up Pokémon Storage Box. After that, the sky is the limit: you can either modify your own creatures or generate new ones from thin air! You can also export your Pokémon as individual files that can be shared to other users and get re-imported later, making PKHeX also a sort of free homebrew bank, transfer and cloning service. And, as hinted before, it doesn't stop there: many more features are also available, such as legality checking, bag editing as well as other game-specific ones (ribbon editing, mystery gift injection and so on)!
Other minor improvements for earlier games have also been added. Here are the official release notes:
Quoted from release notes: 19/11/15 - New Update:
- Introducing Sword/Shield support! Thanks @SciresM and @sora10pls for troubleshooting prior to release!
- - Initial Legality Checking is provided. Please refer to the forums when reporting legality issues for Generation 8 parsing.
- - Bag editing, Pokédex, and Trainer Info editing is provided.
- Changed: PKHeX.Core.dll is now merged in with the main executable.
- Changed: PKHeX.WinForms spriting has now been split into a separate project. On build, it is merged into the main executable.
- Changed: .NET Core 3 support added for WinForms builds. .NET Framework 4.6 build is still the main build option.
- Changed: Project internals now use C# language version 8, the latest. Nullable compiler checks enabled for PKHeX.Core.
- Removed: Mono build no longer required due to font loading rework. No platform specific code remains!
- Changed: Slot grids are now generated instead of manually created. Party and Battle Box now appear differently.
- Changed: Encounter Slot generators now use game-specific logic to yield slots.
- Fixed: Gen6 Fashion for females now exposes the remaining fields.
- Fixed: Legality parsing for misc things fixed. Thanks @Rayqo, @steph9009, @iiippppk!
- Fixed: Mystery Gift received flags are now set correctly. Thanks tsubasa830!
- Fixed: Loading box data binaries now applies it to the current box. Thanks @PKMWM1!
- Fixed: Gen4 Poketch now behaves correctly in the editor, no longer deleting itself.
However, as it's been said from the get-go, keep in mind Sword/Shield support should be considered experimental for the time being. Even if PKHeX offers automatic backups, it's always a good idea to make your own if you care about your save file - so it should be twice as important to keep an original, unedited copy somewhere when even the devs tell you there may be unexpected results. Be sure to warn them if anything's not right: reporting issues on their GitHub repo (linked below) is encouraged!
Keep your game progress safe - one pre-emptive backup can solve a million headaches later!

This is a player sprite hack of Adventure Island 3 for the NES. This hack changes Master Higgins’ player sprites into his girlfriend Tina. There are 2 patches for each region release: US and JP.
Unsurprisingly, Adventure Island 3’s sprite structure is similar to Adventure Island 2, but with new gameplay features, like the player can now duck down, a surfboard bonus game, a boomerang weapon - can be thrown upward, and an additional dinosaur - a triceratops named Poley, it does a rolling attack and does not sink in quicksand.
The US patch is compatible with the current level hacks for the game, but you have to play it on a specific emulator, like VirtuaNES.

Pokémon fans have made #ThankYouGameFreak trend worldwide ahead of the launch of the new Nintendo Switch games, Pokémon Sword and Shield.
The unofficial hashtag campaign is designed to counter-act some of the negativity that has come Game Freak's way surrounding criticism of the upcoming game. Some fans have felt dismayed by what is a perceived lack of innovation in the new title, plus the news that hundreds of classic Pokémon will not be included in this new title. A recently leak around the title has exacerbated the issue.
The firm has since cancelled its launch event for the game in Tokyo, citing 'operational reasons'.

Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa expects "remarkable results" from Mario Kart Tour, based on its performance since it launched last month.
Speaking to the company's investors, Furukawa said that Mario Kart's mobile debut has "has gotten off to a very good start, even compared to our previous mobile applications."
He added: "Continuing on from Super Mario Run, which more than 300 million consumers are enjoying, I think we can expect remarkable results from Mario Kart Tour."
Furukawa did not specify whether these "remarkable results" will be evident in both revenue and downloads, but Nintendo is on record stating its disappointment in the money it made from Super Mario Run.
According to Furukawa, Mario Kart Tour's "earnings are off to a good start," due to a combination of "randomised items" and the "Gold Pass subscription." He also stated his belief that multiplayer will "make it an attractive application that will be enjoyed by consumers in the long-term."

Pokémon Sword and Shield are finally here, and quite fittingly for the variation's monikers this time around, their arrival has come with conflict.
Sword and Shield comprise the first mainline entries in the long-running series to debut on a home console (settle down, "Switch is actually a handheld/console hybrid" pedants), and as such there are elevated (and differing) expectations around it. Some players have been upset that it lacks the "National Pokédex" that let users import hundreds of Pokémon from previous games into new installments during the franchise's run as a portable exclusive franchise. Others simply expected the series to take a larger leap forward. Plenty of others seem perfectly happy with what Sword and Shield are offering.
Those varying expectations can be seen reflected in the first wave of reviews. In her 9.3 out of 10 review for IGN, Casey DeFreitas seems perfectly pleased with how the game turned out.
"With every new game in this 23-year-old series, changes big and small are always made, but I've never been willing to declare the latest entry the new gold standard for Pokémon because they've consistently been a balance of better and worse," DeFreitas said. "But the first mainline game on the Switch has changed that: though there is still no 'perfect Pokémon game,' the 40-plus hours I've spent with Sword and Shield have left me comfortable with calling them the best Pokémon games I have ever played - and I've played 'em all."
