Flipnote Studio 3D, Nintendo's free, three-dimensional animation software for the 3DS, will be available on the North American eShop sometime in "early August," according to the software's newly launched official English website.
As is the case with Flipnote Studio 3D's Japanese counterpart, users will be able to export their animations to one of two networks: Flipnote Gallery: Friends and/or Flipnote Gallery: World. Usage of the Friends network is free and allows the user to share their animations with their 3DS buddies, whereas the World network is a paid service accessed by a global community of users.
The subscription fee is $0.99 for 30 days of access. Additionally, the app comes with a free 30 trial period, and the World network is freely available every day between 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. local 3DS time. The user can also earn Coin Points and Collector Points by submitting and evaluating Flipnotes, which can lead to free months of playtime if they're awesome enough at either activity.

The eShop cup spilleth over this week, with lots of great new releases for Wii U and 3DS. The Legend of Zelda gets two links to the past in Oracle of Ages andOracle of Seasons. Both games are available for $4.99 each until June 20, and use a password system to interact with one another.
The 3DS also gets The Denpa Men 2: Beyond the Waves, and on June 4, you can snag a demo for Project X Zone, the bizarre Capcom/Sega/Namco mash-up RPG.
Meanwhile, the Wii U Virtual Console picks up Mega Man X and Ghosts N' Goblins (not to be confused with Super Ghouls N' Ghosts, which came out earlier this month). From now until June 6, purchasing one of these games will get you the other for half price.
Finally, there's a Just Dance 4 sale going on – you can pick up the game or select DLC for 30 percent off until June 4.

Indie developer Renegade Kid announced that its depth-hopping platformer,Mutant Mudds Deluxe, will launch in the Wii U eShop on June 13.
Mutant Mudds Deluxe includes all content from the previously released 3DS and PC versions of Mutant Mudds, along with 20 Wii U-exclusive levels in which players must collect new-power ups in order to bust enemy ghosts.
Judging from the gameplay footage above, there seems to be a new checkpointing system, which should help players progress through some of the lengthier levels. The post-game "Granny" levels (previously released as DLC for the 3DS and PC versions) also make a return, if you're up for a CGA-tinted challenge. Mutant Mudds Deluxe will include over 80 levels in all when it premieres next month.

The Wii U version of shooter Sniper Elite V2 does not include some of the features on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version - and customers aren't happy. The Wii U version launched last week and gamers quickly discovered it lacked online play, leaderboards and the downloadable content already released for the PS3 and Xbox 360 - this despite the game being a year old.DLC added to the original version post-release includes self-contained single-player missions and a multiplayer expansion, which supported competitive play between players. The Wii U version, then, is a port of vanilla Sniper Elite V2. The image above, courtesy of MyNintendoNews.com, highlights the discrepancy.Sniper Elite V2 was developed by UK studio Rebellion and published by 505 Games. When contacted by Eurogamer, 505 confirmed the DLC expansions and online functionality from Sniper V2 on PS3 and Xbox 360 were not present in the Wii U version, but declined to explain why.505's silence on the matter - no doubt an attempt to avoid damaging relations with Nintendo - has sparked speculation. Perhaps budget constraints forced Rebellion's hand. If adding the DLC features to the game would have come at a cost to the independent developer, the Wii U's current low install base may have made a return on investment unlikely.None of which rules out the DLC coming to the Wii U version at some point in the future, but at this stage it looks unlikely.

Bummed out about the Wii U GamePad's middling battery life? Nintendo finally has an answer: install a bigger battery. Taking to Twitter these evening, Nintendo revealed has that a new larger capacity GamePad battery will be available in Japan soon, promising between 5-8 hours of battery life. The 2,550mAh battery will cost ¥3,000 yen (about $39) when it launches this July, and will need to be installed manually by the user. There's no word yet on international availability, but it's a welcome band-aid for problem that nagged early adopters. Hungry for all of the (machine translated) details? Check out the official announcement at the attached source link.

An official extended battery for its Wii U Gamepad isn't the only thing Nintendo Japan posted on its website tonight, as it also added a white option for the Wii U 32GB Premium set, a 30th Anniversary Luigi special edition 3DS XL and quick charging option for the Wiimote. Surveys surfaced earlier this year suggesting a fast charging option on the way for the Wiimote, and in Japan gamers will be able to add the accessory -- consisting of replacement battery / backplate and charging stand, pictured after the break -- starting July 13th for 4,200 yen ($41) , and 2,625 yen ($26) for the battery alone. That should allow not only faster charging, but also longer battery life than Wii gamers have been used to.
July 13th is the same day the white Wii U premium will arrive as well, coming at the same price and packing the same accessories as the existing black 32GB console. Finally, Nintendo listed all the details for the special Luigi edition 3DS XL announced recently on Nintendo Direct. Of course, none of these are the games that even Iwataadmits the Wii U needs, but a few more choices can't hurt, can they?

Nintendo says, "With Wii Street U powered by Google, you can step into Google Street View with an immersive experience that feels like you’re actually there! View a 360-degree Google Maps Street View of locations all over the world using the Wii U GamePad motion controls. Use the GamePad touch screen to type in an address or location and explore, or instantly travel to over 70 fascinating, hand-picked locations around the globe." It all looks lovely, but can't we do most of this with Android phones? And couldn't a smart developer make the Google Street View Android phone experience even more immersive, so we wouldn't all need to buy a Wii U? Nintendo, we love you, but the Wii U still looks pretty dead unless it gets some major rethinking, and this Street View app doesn't seem to be it.

General changes:

Features added to the web version:
- Post (text only) and delete posts in communities.
- Follow and unfollow other users via their profile.
- Display the list of your friends, followers and users you are following in your profile.

Miiverse is an online forum for users to discuss games, share thoughts, swap notes and post doodles, among other interactions. It was described in January by Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime as Wii U's "killer app".
Nintendo has confirmed plans to launch Miiverse on 3DS later this year.

The Yakuza series has always been a PlayStation exclusive, but it was recently announced that in Japan there will be a Wii U release of the first two title's HD editions due this August.
This suggests that more could be on the way, and series producer Toshihiro Nagoshi admitted in a (translated via Kotaku), that this Nintendo release is "an experiment" to gauge the Wii U audience's interest in the series."To be honest, we're not aiming to see if the game will be a smash hit," explained Nagoshi. "Our real intention is that we want to see how people respond."That being said, Nagoshi stated that the series "isn't jumping ship to Nintendo hardware," and "Yakuza 1 & 2 HD are coming out on the Wii U, and this is what it is." This rules out the series migrating to being a Nintendo exclusive, but doesn't mean that the rest of the series couldn't come to Wii U as well if this re-release is a success.Nagoshi seemed less keen on the 3DS, however, jokingly saying that "it's not possible." He clarified, "I'd do it if it were okay to have a Yakuza game without many people walking around the city... But it would be forcing it, no?"So far Yakuza 1 & 2 HD and the upcoming Yakuza 5 have not been announced for a western release. Given that the series scored four consecutive Eurogamer 8/10s before Dead Souls had to ruin everything, I think it's safe to say that we'd like to see more Goro Majima make it to the west.
