Rumours that Nintendo Wii launch title ExciteTruck allows for custom soundtracks have turned out to be true, with US review copies revealing the option.
All you have to do is insert is put some MP3 files onto an SD Card and then pop the card into the Wii's SD slot before you start up the game.
Then, before a race begins, press the plus-sign on the Wii remote and you're taken to the Sound Options screen, where you can select SD Card and then browse through the first 100 songs stored on the card.
It's possible to choose a specific song, to randomise all shown songs, or, if you can't be bothered, to highlight "Default" to listen to the game's built-in music.
The news that some Wii games will incorporate custom soundtrack options is quite pleasing, and follows on from the practice instigated by Microsoft with Xbox.
We'll let you know if we find out about any others.

News/release from Mollusk:
Zi is tetris-like game, which is actually closer to meteos… You can move the blocks around like in meteos. Once you have a set of 3 or more blocks, you can remove them by clicking on the set, kind of like in a JawBreaker game…

Unless you have mighty muscles like IGN editor Craig Harris, you can't take your favorite pinball machine with you when traveling. Thanks to Ignition Entertainment, you can still enjoy the thrill of pinball in the far more portable Nintendo DS. Flipper Critters is described as a pinball adventure game. Developed by Zen Studios, Flipper Critters blends traditional pinball gameplay with an adventurous story.
Gamers journey from a majestic castle all the way to the moon in a quest to assist Bull, a bovine with a cold. Though Flipper Critters is, at its core, a pinball game, it features a three-dimensional world. This isn't your standard pinball title.
"Flipper Critters is a unique adventure, combining classic RPG-like story elements with a pinball game interface," said Paul Robinson, President of Ignition Entertainment. "The entire family will enjoy playing together on the go with their Nintendo DS, immersing themselves into the cute critter world while enjoying arcade-style pinball action."
Flipper Critters ships in spring 2007.

Last week, GameSpot was brought a new bundle of joy in the form of Sony's PlayStation 3. The stork has arrived again, this time bearing Nintendo's Wii. Though the console isn't making its worldwide debut until November 19, On the Spot is giving gamers an advanced peek at what to expect from the anticipated console.
On schedule to be demonstrated are all three Nintendo first-party launch titles--Excite Truck, Wii Sports, and a little game subtitled Twilight Princess. Electronic Arts and Sega are also expected to provide some games for show.
Like last week's PlayStation 3 unveiling, GameSpot editors will be popping in and out of the studio, trying their hand (and arms) at the Wii and its motion-sensitive controller. Those watching the video live are also invited to submit questions via e-mail or through the video player's question submission form.
On the Spot's hands-on with the Wii is expected to run until 4 p.m., when GameSpot Tournament TV begins airing the Fatal Face-Off Mortal Kombat Armageddon competition.

Majesco has revealed that the newly titled Bust-A-Move Bash! will come to Wii with a multiplayer mode for up to eight players.
What's interesting is how on earth this will work. At the moment we know it only to be possible to connect four Wii Remotes to the console at any time. Could it be that the game will use some sort of Wireless Wii multitap?
Our only other guess is that it could use a combination of Wii Remotes and extension controllers like the Nunchuk or classic controller, with players having to sit in pairs to share controllers. It may even use GameCube pads.
Majesco was not available for comment at present, but we'll chase down the details.

The Nintendo Wii was the topic of a hilarious episode of South Park last week, which saw Cartman, desperate to get a Wii, freezing himself in an attempt to pass the time until launch as quickly as possible.
But instead of waking up on the day of launch as he had planned, he instead remained frozen for 500 years, and is revived by the advanced future civilisation of earth, when the Wii is nothing but forgotten blip in human history.
The episode ended on a cliff hanger, and now the second part to the story has been aired, featuring an even more bizarre storyline. Does Cartman ever get his hands on the Wii? Some kind fellow has uploaded both episodes to Dailymotion.com, so check them out. Be quick though, they have a tendency to disappear after a short while.

Via Jayenkai:
Currently titled "JNKPlat : Dungeon Escape", but should really be something like "Dungeon Scram" or something like that.. But Dungeon Scram sounds a bit of a naff title, compared to Dungeon Escape..
Technically, there's 12 levels in here, but level 12 isn't done, and level 4 is the same as level 2... just the other half of it!
No titlescreen yet. And once you hit Level 12, you might as well just quit, and have done with it. Unless you really like the balloons.
Controls
DPad to move
B to hold
Y to Jump Left and A to Jump Right.. Sounds odd, but you'll get to grips with it fairly quickly!
The game is meant to be "More Puzzle than Platform", but it's kind of evolved to become more actiony than previous JNKPlat games I've created.
Hope you enjoy it.. Plenty more to come... And if I can figure out that stupid file system stuff, I'll add a level editor, too

I just found this video on Youtube
It features an australian game critic playing on a Wii in what appears to be a retail store.
Im pretty certain it's not Nintendo World, so could this be what we are all getting in our stores as demo machines?
Judge for yourselves

Does your brain need some hot puzzle action? Not to fret! Agetec has the answer, though you'll just have to wait until next February to get down with the puzzles. The publisher's latest, the Brain Buster Puzzle Pak is set to bring five different games to the DS: Sudoku, Kakuro, Light Up, Nurikabe, and Slitherlink (aka Fences), all of which were created in conjunction with popular Japanese puzzle mag Nikoli.

While skimming through Volume 210 of Nintendo Power, I came across a few lines I would have missed otherwise. I havn’t seen this anywhere on the web, and would have missed out otherwise. For all Animal Crossing: Wild World owners, that are able to go on Wi-Fi this is a heads up to be sure to go online durring the days of Pre-Wii November 17th through Wii Phase Nov 24th. Do reconfirm that is Nov 17th-24th 2006. The item is relating and in honor of the Twilight Princess launch and comes with a letter and a very rare gift.
"SHHH . IT’S A SECRET"
Nov 17-24th 2006
Listen carefully NP faithful. To commeroate the launch of The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii on Nov 19th, Nintendo will be giving away a very speical, very rare gift in Animal Crossing: Wild World. Be sure to connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection during the week of Nov 17th-24th to recive a letter from Nintendo (which will show up in your mailbox near your home) and collect the attached item-you don’t want to miss this one."-Nintendo Power
Well I broke the secret...sorry Nintendo Power. Mark the day on your calender as will I, and I will be sure to remind you on Nov 16th to log in for the following day.

LiraNuna posted this news:
Thanks to AlexFili for letting me know the sources for Tales of Dagur did not work on the latest devkitPro.
Therefor I have released a fixed version of the source.
For the interested ones, here is a list of what is fixed:
ARM7’s makefile is changed to produce binaries in Thumb mode to reduce the code size to fit the 64k limit.
The ToD engine had a bug enabling effects before switching to a level. This caused the level handler to crash when loading the first map.
