libertyernie suggested last October the version 2.3.1 of the excellent Game Boy/Game Boy Advance emulator for the nintendo Wii "Visual Boy Advance GX", portage of VBA-M.
Quote:
[2.3.1-October 14, 2014]-libertyernie
* Super Game Boy border support
* Borders can be loaded from (and are automatically saved to) PNG files
* Any border loaded from the game itself will override the custom PNG border
* Custom palette support from 2.2.8 restored
* Option added to select Game Boy hardware (GB/SGB/GBC/auto)
* Fixed pixel ratio mode added
* Overrides zoom and aspect ratio settings
* To squish the picture so it appears correctly on a 16: 9 TV, you can open
the settings.xml file and add 10 to the gbFixed/gbaFixed value. However,
setting your TV to 4:3 mode will yield a better picture.
* Real-time clock fixes for GB/GBC games, including Pokémon G/S/C
* RTC data in save file stored as little-endian
* Option added for UTC offset in the main menu (only required if you use the
same SRAM on other, time-zone-aware platforms)
* New option for selecting "sharp" or "soft" filtering settings
* "Sharp" was the default for 480p, "soft" was the default for 480i

mGBA is a new Open Source emulator for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance written in C. Binaries are available for Windows and OS X.
Quote:
The initial release of mGBA, version 0.1.0, is here! mGBA aims to be a high-quality Game Boy Advance emulator, and I look forward to getting feedback from the community to make it even higher quality in the future.
A year and a half in development, I’m very happy to announce the impending release of the first version of a brand new Game Boy Advance emulator, written from the ground up in C. Despite being a first version, it’s still very featureful. While the emulator might have been ready for a release months ago, I wanted to polish it to be as good as it could be for the first release. It surely shows.

CaH4e3 updated his site with the following message:
- 4-in-1 YH-481 (20-in-1 KY2001, 228-in-1, 999999-in-1)(Unl)[!]
Super Angry Birds (Unl).
TThanks to Nikita600 for pointing me to this cart. Once again a new game has been found on one of the numerous pirate recent multigame carts. This is not a hack of something and much more interesting than others. The Angry Birds game for famicom not a surprize itself. There is at least one known FC-clone, and a lot more graphical character hacks of licensed games. But this time we have much more advanced clone, and it seems it was ported from Sega Genesis version, or maybe they shares some graphics and interface features. Main difference from other games is that this game uses the almost whole 256Kb ROM for storing DPCM samples used for music and sounds (regular 1-bit DPCM with DMA transfers), so there are no any other FM sounds in this game. The samples quality is very good for DPCM and I'm curious, why they didn't using it all the time, rather than implementing additional hardware PCM DMA channel in OneBus systems (see Gangnam Style recently).
Additionally note, that this cart using regular FK23C board with DIP-switches, and it of course have some additional menus and hidden games, which can be enabled with these menus. One of such menus have also a serial number KY2001, so there should be another cart with the same PCB and ROM, but different DIP-switch shorted.
For convenience I ripped AB as a separate ROM and it should work perfectly on regular mapper 4 board on any emulator.

Xump - The Final Run is a simple multi-platform puzzler by Retroguru. Initially released by Psilocybin Development in 2005 the game has been improved in almost every aspect you can imagine. New graphics, new levels, new music, new options, new everything...
Help Holger to clean up deserted space fields. As this is a very dangerous task for a human being a headbot named Xump will be the one who has to suffer. Your main task is to clean all dissolveable tiles on several single-screen levels by simply stepping on them, one by one. Few fields are secured with mines and need a double tap. Mines can be blown up when passing by or demined by Xump when staying on this specific field for a short moment. Certainly the mission sounds easier than it will be.

Players of Mario Maker, the upcoming Wii U game that lets players build their own 2D worlds in the style of the Super Mario Bros. series, will be able to share their creations online, according to Nintendo's Shigeru Miyamoto.
In a recent with YouTube personality iJustine (translated by Nintendo Senior Product Marketing Manager Bill Trinen) Miyamoto said, "You'll be able to see what happens when other people play your course or when you play other people's courses. There will be some popularity rankings for the most popular courses and things like that. So there's a lot on the community side."
Miyamoto hopes you won't forsake those in your own home though, elaborating that he still pictures couch-based play, with a creator handing off their level to a friend or family member who is in the room. "But of course we will have the internet ability to exchange courses as well." We can't wait to see all the age-appropriate and completely family-friendly designs that the internet will come up with.

In an interview with the Associated Press, Super Mario Bros. creator and leading Nintendo visionary Shigeru Miyamoto mentioned that the Japanese console giant is already working on a successor to the now two-year-old Wii U.
"For the time being, our focus is on the Wii U hardware, but Nintendo as a whole has groups working on ideas for new hardware systems," Miyamoto said. "While we're busy working on software for the Wii U, we have production lines that are working on ideas for what the next system might be."
Keep in mind, this sort of far-future planning is routine for console manufacturers. It would be surprising if the "production lines" Miyamoto mentioned have moved beyond the early planning stages. Don't worry, it's going to be at least a few more years before you have to work another Nintendo console into your budget.

Want to know what Christmas morning was like back in (not-so) old uncle Jim's day? Well if you own a Wii U, maybe this year you can. As you wipe the sleep from your eyes on December 25th and run downstairs, you'll finally be able to take the digital wraps off Duck Hunt -- as Nintendo's just confirmed that's when it will be available viaVirtual Console. Finally you can pop a cap in a few majestic mallards -- just like uncle did all those years ago -- only with a Wiimote rather than a light gun (at least Nintendo didn't mention one yet). There's no word on whether you'll need to pay up for the privilege yet, either. If you are uncle/aunt Jim/Jane/whatever (like me), then perhaps instead you can show your favourite niece/nephew, exactly how it's done -- you old dog.

Very active in the development of this Super Nintendo emulator, StapleButter offers a new version of it for all the happy owners of Nintendo 3DS able to run homebrew (via gateway or Ninjhax).
On the menu of the day, we will retain a particularly accelerated rendering in hardware (which is, however, less effective than rendering software, at least for now) and a scaling of the image. Various bugs have been corrected at the same time and PAL timing is finally supported. Please note, homebrew 3DS currently using CSND for the audio portion, the emulator will remain hopelessly dumb if launched from a gateway (incompatible for now) or New 3DS (this function is not walking on this new model). Not until the reverse engineering of the DSP to hope enjoy the sound someday. Version 1.2: * Brand new hardware-accelerated renderer * Scaling carrier * Exit button (Mainly for use with the Homebrew Launcher) * Fixed Emulation (Namely, huge ' next EXP 'in Earthbound is fixed) * Support for the fashion 256x239 PAL * Proper support (Actually timings uses PAL) * Tries to prevent prevention GPU freezes * Synchronous SPC700 (fixed from goal aussi causes a little Slowdown) * As usual, more crap I forgot about. A long overdue update and I bet it comes as no surprise to most that RetroUSB (RetroZone) has yet another Xmas cart out this year for the NES, the SNES counterpart sadly only lasted for a few years and yet again there is no SNES version. The Xmas 2014 NES cart features a game called Killer Queen Arcade and is probably the most fustrating xmas game to date, or maybe I just suck at playing it.
If you've like to own a copy, remember they're only available until the end of December. The standard cart is $44, but for $8 extra you are able to add custom text to the rom, making it one of a kind - unless someone else makes writes the same text hah.
The xmas cart is available here...
http://www.retrousb.com/product_info...roducts_id=132
Well I've updated the Xmas cart page with the new release.

On a side note I'd like to thank those of you who have left a comment in my previous "twins" post :-)

If you have played Paper Mario (n64) and beaten many times, then it has become too easy for you. Are you a hardcore gamer and want more of a Challenge?! Just imagine if Paper Mario (n64) was harder: If enemy’s attacks were stronger and if they had more HP! Knux5577 tested the game with his patch applied and it was alot harder… and just think, Paper Mario used to be very easy for Knux5577! You have to really plan your attacks and usually skip doing tattles just to survive one battle! Don’t believe Knux5577? Try it yourself!http://www.romhacking.net/hacks/2245/

Giana’s Return aims to be a worthy UNOFFICIAL sequel of “The Great Giana Sisters” and has been recently released for Nintendo Wii. If you do have the homebrew channel at hand, you might want to check this release out.
Evil Swampy and his followers have stolen the magic ruby, which made it once possible for Giana and Maria to return from their dream. Many creatures are after this ruby, but does it really has power, or was it just a coincidence? As this is not bad enough, Swampy fell in love at first sight with Giana’s sister Maria and shamelessly kidnapped her. She simply has been at the wrong place at the wrong time. You will now have to take on the role of Giana and get back the magic ruby. And most important of all, save your beloved sister Maria and get home save!

ZXDS is an emulator of Sinclair ZX Spectrum for Nintendo DS, written by Patrik Rak. It is steadily reaching a mature stage of development, and it already has some noteworthy features, like accurate emulation of Spectrum 48k, 128k and Pentagon models (including sound), or support for TAP/TZX/PZX tape files, TRD/SCL disk files and RZX playback files.
Changes:ZXDS 1.3.2 (22.11.2014)
* Fixed libfat bug which could make corrupt directory entry after the last entry was deleted. You might have experienced this mostly when renaming files or moving them around.
* Fixed couple more libfat bugs (really long names, alias creation, whitespace trimming).
* Added caseinfo extension to libfat so letter case of 8.3 names is now read properly.
* Medium associated with persistent copy of save slot 0 is never deleted prematurely anymore.
* Save slot medium removal is now postponed to further improve chance of media reuse.
* Few other subtle changes (cache filenames, file name trimming, minor help tweaks).

Chord is a monophonic synth program for the original Nintendo Game Boy. The idea was to make something that can be played like an instrument, but with the limitations of the few buttons available. No extra accessories. No midi keyboards.
You build “chords” of five notes and play them back using the pulsewave channel, with full sound register settings control and optional arpeggiator.
