Nintendo has announced that it is to launch a black version of its Wii Balance Board next month.
A bundle including both the new-look peripheral and a copy of Wii Fit Plus. It will be released on October 7th.
Until this point only the white version of the accessory has been released in the UK. However with the black Wii having been on the market for some time it’s no surprise to see Nintendo giving families the option of colour-matching their favourite fitness game.
And of course, despite Wii’s increasing lack of favour in the UK market Wii Fit remains very much a strong prospect for the Christmas buying season.

A total of 243 GAME and 165 Gamestation stores will open their doors just before midnight on Thursday September 29th in anticipation of FIFA 12’s release.
GAME’s Oxford Street store is hosting the UK’s official midnight launch, with the first customer to buy the game receiving a new LG 3D monitor. Three more LG sets will also be on offer as prizes.
“With over 400 stores opening at midnight to celebrate the launch of FIFA 12, we’re kitting up for an evening of football fun across the country,” GAME and Gamestation marketing director Anna-Marie Mason stated.
“FIFA has proven year in, year out to be a hit with customers and we’re thrilled to be giving fans the earliest chance to pick up a copy.”
The industry’s eyes are now fixed squarely on retail, whom MCV anticipates will see FIFA 12 as very much a potential loss-leader. Will anyone match Tesco’s infamous £24.97 no-strings-attached price for FIFA 10 in October 2009?

Nintendo's two most beloved characters arrive on the 3DS eShop this week with the releases of The Legend Of Zelda: Four Swords Anniversary Edition and Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins.
Four Swords, the fourplayer adventure released for GameCube in 2004, is being released as part of the Zelda series' 25th anniversary celebrations. A free download for both 3DS owners from the eShop and DSi users from DSiWare, it supports fourplayer offline multiplayer and, for the first time, a singleplayer mode, with the lone adventurer able to switch between two characters with a button press.
Super Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins is a re-release of the 1992 Game Boy title, and will cost £4.50 when it is released on Thursday.
Zelda and Mario will again go head-to-head before the year is out: 3DS's Super Mario 3D Land and Link's Wii swan-song The Legend Of Zelda: Skyward Sword will both be released on November 18.

Speaking to Official Nintendo Magazine, vice president of PR and marketing Pete Hines said that, while there was a "possibility" of Bethesda developing for Wii U, the amount of work involved in porting and localising games for multiple platforms presented something of a stumbling block.
"It's definitely a possibility for the future," he said. "We'll look at any platform that will support the games we're trying to make, but that's the key thing - the console has to support the game as it is designed."
Pressed on whether Bethesda had any intention of bringing the upcoming The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to Nintendo's Wii successor, Hines explained: "The more changes we have to make to a game the less and less palatable it becomes, because making a game is an enormous process.
"Just doing 360, PS3 and PC - I don't think people understand the amount of work that goes into that. All the localisation you have to do, all of the testing you have to do, on every platform in every language - it's a pretty huge undertaking. You aren't just supporting Wii U; you're supporting it in English, French, Italian, German and Spanish."
All of which sounds very much like Bethesda is waiting to see whether Nintendo secures a large enough installed base for its upcoming console before committing to bringing its big-budget games to the platform. Xbox 360, PS3 and PC owners, meanwhile, will be able to enjoy Skyrim when it is released on November 11. Those that can't wait that long can read the extensive preview in our latest issue, E233, which is out tomorrow.

Dolphin GCMemcardUpdates Git 3.0-98 is released. Dolphin GCMemcardUpdates is a branch of Dolphin. Dolphin is the first Gamecube emulator able to run commercial games! Dolphin is a great Gamecube(NGC) and Wii emulator. It has a partial Wii support and plays most Gamecube games. Dolphin has been changed SVN to Git recently.

My X Nes 3 is released. My X Nes is a portable open source NES/FAMICOM emulator written in C# using XNA Framework for windows and Xbox 360 platforms. My X Nes is a port of My Nes emulator.

DeSmuME SVN r4099 is released. DeSmuME is an open source Nintendo DS(NDS) emulator for Linux, Mac OS and Windows. DeSmuME supports save states, the ability to increase the size of the screen and it supports filters to improve image quality. DeSmuME also supports microphone use on Windows and Linux ports, as well as direct video and audio recording. The emulator also features a built-in movie recorder.

Glitch64 SVN r254 is released. GlideHQ is a realtime texture enhancer library with hi-resolution texture pack support for Glide64. Glitch64 is the recommended Glide3x wrapper for Glide64, the Glide video plugin for N64 emulators. It currently supports S3TC texture compression, anisotropic filtering, widescreen resolutions and simulates almost all the Glide3x hardware capabilities used by the plugin, included texture buffer capability (needed for render to texture). It is coded using the OpenGL API and uses GLSL shaders.
Traditional and non-traditional techniques have been used to achieve speed and high image quality even on a 9 year old 3Dfx Voodoo2. Although the 3Dfx Glide3x texture format naming conventions are used, the library can be expanded for generic use. The library supports 6 enhancers and 6 image filters. FXT1 and S3TC texture compression are supported.

HalfNES v0.039 is released. HalfNES is an open-source emulator for the Nintendo Entertainment System, written in Java. Currently, it only runs as a standalone Java SE application.
Current Features:
-Now cropping off the top and bottom 8 pixels of the video output, since these are
not visible on most TVs and a lot of games render garbage on those lines.
-Added volume slider to options dialog (and rewrote the sound output code as well.)
-Fixed a lot of sound bugs. Crystalis, Zombie Nation, A Boy And His Blob etc. all sound right now.
-Fixed Twin Cobra
HalfNES v0.039 Changelog:
Added mappers 5 and 119. Castlevania III works now and so do all other MMC5 games
except for Laser Invasion and two Japanese exclusive ones. Also fixed one tiny
almost unnoticeable bug with drum sounds cutting off a tiny bit early that
has been there for months unnoticed.

SSNES v0.8.2 is released. SSNES is a simple frontend for the libsnes library. libsnes is the emulator core of bSNES, the most accurate SNES emulator to date, in library form. The libsnes API has been implemented by SNES9x as well, allowing multiple different cores to be used for an emulator that supports libsnes. This enables the possibility of custom front-ends for the emulator.

Starfield IS a small app to Demonstrate That Was Written That the starfield effect I use in Newo Shooter. I wrote this program for beginners Who Wants to Get Into Wii homebrew. Uses GRRLIB. It Is not a game. Can you modify the included source to simulate Things like warps, rain and Various Other flying effects.
[edit] How it works Check the source. The C program Basically Draws Some lines in 3D space inside a single block GX. Half the lines are a different color and are moving Slower Than The Other Half. The lines move from the back of the box to the front (-1 to 1) and are back at -1 Placed If They Become Greater Than 1. Lines are Better Than dots Because THEY Provide a nice motion blur appearance. You Can Interact with the effect by pressing buttons appropriée. If you change the angle you can make it look like rain, heavy rain or a slow drizzle. You Only Need draw_stardust the void () function, the rest of the code is just for the demo There to purpose and IS NOT needed.

A new build from the NES emulator FCEUltra-Win32-mappers-modified has been released. This emulator is based on FCEUltra source code snapshot (fceu-0.98.13).
