Well i see Wraggster has not posted this so i will ;D ;D
Take a dash of Wario Ware, a shot of the mini-games from Super Mario 64 DS and a slug of Yoshi's Island and, while the resulting cocktail might be as light as champagne, at least it will make you giggle like hyena on nitrous oxide.
Which is precisely what Yoshi's Touch and Go should do too with its specifically designed DS levels. Blending horizontal and vertical scrolling action with two-player WiFi fun, this adventure demands that you protect a young plumber and his gormless green mate. So as a young Yoshi wanders across the screen with Lemming-like stupidity, and parachute-less baby Mario plummets earthwards, it's your job to keep them alive using the stylus to clear a route to safety.
To help the dumb duo reach the end of the level you can draw circles around enemies, trapping them in bubbles, or create slopes and slides to make sure that Mario marches safely onwards. Along the way, coins also need to be collected and this can be managed by tapping Yoshi himself to make him flutter and fly up to reach the treasure or to swoop over an obstacle.
In other DS news, Atari have announced that the futuristic Nintendo handheld will take a step into the past with Retro Atari Classics, a compilation that features 10 old school classics. Each one will be playable via WiFi and they will also makes use of DS's touch-screen technology. All of the usual suspects are present - Pong, Missile Command, Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, Tempest, Warlords, Gravitar, Lunar Lander and Sprint - although, for some reason known only to Atari, each game will feature graffiti-style backdrops.
Yoshi's Touch and Go will be released for DS in early 2005, while Retro Atari Classics is scheduled for release in March

MGFox has released a new front end for the Gamecube Emulator GCube, heres whats new:[br][br]As most of you will know gCube 0.3 was released recently, and it now has more options on the command line to allow greater control and compatability of the emulation. I have updated gCubeFront to incorporate these options (and a few other minor fixes) and figured i'd give it to you guys again.[br][br]You can find the new options in the "Advanced Options" window. Please be aware that the Refresh Delay box should only contain a numeric value, although the gCubeFront will accept...well...anything, gCube itself WILL NOT, I will create a check for it if people tell me they want one otherwise I'll assume you're all happy![br][br]Run it in the directory with gCube.exe and enjoy![br][br]Download from Here

Nintendo's DS looks certain to outsell Sony's PlayStation Portable, but Nintendo is clearly so worried about its rival that it is already announcing an upgrade that will bring PSP-style music and movie features to its own handheld console.[br][br]Next February, Nintendo will ship an add-on module that provides music and video playback, the company said today. The ¥5000 ($48) adaptor will work with any MPEG 4 video and MP3 audio files stored on a DS memory card.[br][br]Sony always touted the PSP as a mobile media unit as well as a games console, whereas Nintendo, as you'd expect from its previous efforts in the handheld gaming arena, has always focused on portable play. Interestingly, the addition of the new adaptor will not only bring to the DS the kind of media support the PSP enjoys, but will up its effective price to that of the PSP. In Japan the DS retails for around ¥15,000, the PSP for ¥19,800.[br][br]Nintendo launched the DS in Japan on 2 December - ten days before Sony's PSP went on sale in that country. The DS is already on sale in the US, though the PSP is unlikely to ship officially over there much before the end of Q1 2005. That's the anticipated timeframe for both consoles' European debuts.

Nintendo of Japan have announced a new official peripheral that will allow you to play MP3's and MPEG4 movies on the GBA SP.[br]The peripheral that has the tentative name of 'Play-Yan' is the size of a standard GBA cartridge and plugs into the game-cartridge slot of the GBA SP. Content is stored on SD-cards that slot into the side of the cartridge, allowing you to play your own content via the device. Take that PSP![br][br]The top of the 'Play-Yan' also boasts a headphone socket allowing you to hear your files without buying an extra peripheral. The device is scheduled for release in February 2005 in Japan at a price of 5,000 Yen (approx. £25). [br][br]There's no confirmation yet if the device is compatible with the Nintendo DS, but if it isn't, expect Nintendo to have something even bigger planned!

Atari are cleaning out the closet and dusting down the hits of yesteryear for the imaginatively named Retro Atari Classics - a 10 game compilation of geriatric goodness - that's heading to the Nintendo DS.[br]Set for release in spring of 2005, Retro Atari Classics will feature 10 original Atari (surprise, surprise) games: Pong, Missile Command, Asteroids, Breakout, Centipede, Tempest, Warlords, Gravitar, Lunar Lander and Sprint.[br][br]The game is set to make full use of the technical innovations of the DS including touch screen functionality, wireless multiplayer, dual screen gameplay and the ability to play head-to-head against another player on the same Nintendo DS.[br][br]But wait, that's not all! Here comes the science, or at least the twist. In a bid to appeal to the modern gamer as well as the nostalgia freaks, each of the ten games will be available in both original and new tagged versions.[br][br]The Tagged mode features brand new looks for each of the 10 games from some of today's most popular graffiti artists including REAS, Delta and Obey Giant. [br][br]Shouldn't they all be out painting trains or something?[br][br]Retro Atari Classics will hit DS in the US in March 2005, with a UK release to be announced when we get the system's release date over here.

Hi Guys,
I recently bought a DS and the Super Mario 64 for DS. I have played some levels already and currently stuck where I need to [glow=yellow,2,300]unlock WARIO[/glow].
I tried all published FAQs/Walkthroughs/Tips and Tricks and can't still figure out how many keys I must get in order to unlock WARIO.
Also I would be thankful if anyone can reply in detail 1) who must fight Bowser - Mario or Luigi? 2) After getting what numbered key (first, second etc) must Mario/Luigi enter which room 3) Which room is Snowman's Land located in the Castle?
Thank you all so much!
(Eagerly awaiting a helpful reply......) ???

News from Lik Sang [br][br]Ridge Racer DS, a port of the N64 game released four years ago, is now playable in the palm of your hands. The US title is shipping since Saturday, with pre-orders being posted as we speak, and new orders welcome at US$ 44.90 only.[br][br]Nintendo's own development studio that handled Metroid Prime Hunters DS ported the game over, and took the time to upgrade several features too, starting with 6 player wireless racing. Using the NDS download function, everyone can play with just one cartridge between the group, the other NDS consoles downloading the game into their memory. Being limited in size, some features are missing, but if each player does have their own cartridge, they can each have your own music and such. Drifting around corners, slamming into mates and spinning 360 degrees, all wireless, is something new to console games, and great fun. [br][br]For the single player aspect, Ridge Racer DS includes 20 GP races spread across three locations, and has 32 vehicles, which combined with it's tough but arcade style difficulty level, will keep gamers busy a while. The lower DS screen is used to display information like lap times, records and a map of the track, keeping the top one clear of all but the most important details. With three different control scheme options, the bottom screen also functions as an analogue steering wheel, preventing you from having to tap-tap-tap around corners with the d-pad (I still remember power sliding around the corners of Sega Rally on the Saturn like that, and after a while knowing exactly how many taps many of the corners took).[br][br]If you haven't kept up with the latest DS news here recently, you might not know we have the Japanese DS in stock and shipping right now. We provide fully illustrated instructions on how to change the language to English, and after that it stays that way, even if you reset the machine to wipe its memory! English instructions are also available on both, Nintendo.com and Lik-Sang.com. Being region free, the Japanese DS is certainly the way to go to avoid the US shortage, but it's best to be quick, as the Japanese supply is not eternal either. The full news article is online here, complete with games, and accessories like bags, screen protectors and more.[br][br]If you are targetting a delivery on or before Christmas, please see our Christmas Rush Shipping Schedules Summary here, with final deadlines for Global Priority, Airmail, UPS, DHL and EMS.

The Gameboy Advance and soon to be DS emulator for windows has been updated with a new release and although he hasnt specified whats new in this release, heres the latest news from the website:[br][br]Thursday, 9th December 2004 [br][br]Ok, so maybe I haven't actually changed any code, but it was still high time I versioned up. So it's here, the All New And Shiny 0.0.1c! Have fun. [br][br]Monday, 6th December 2004 [br][br]A few issues have been highlighted recently. First of all, the emu crashed a heck of a lot on customers' computers. I tracked the problem down to a stray line in the Pause menu option; all good now! [br][br]Also. There've been quite a few files missing from the Zip archive which cause compilation to fail. I've managed to put those in, and I've tried to make the Makefile a touch more portable. [br][br] Download Here

The latest entry to the handheld console market, the Nintendo DS, is enjoying global sales figures broadly in line with its predecessor, the Game Boy Advance, with over a million units sold worldwide so far.[br][br]The latest figures from Japan show that around half a million DS consoles were sold in the four days since launch, with estimates ranging from Nintendo's figure of 513,000 units sold through down to Media Create's estimate of 468,900 units.[br][br]Business newspaper the Nikkei Industrial Daily brings the two sets of figures together, explaining that around 460,000 consoles are in the hands of consumers, while a further 50,000 have been reserved but not yet collected from retailers.[br][br]In North America, over half a million units of the DS were sold in its first week at retail, so combined with the Japanese figures, the new console has already got a global installed base of over a million units.[br][br]This is in line with the 2001 launch of the Game Boy Advance, which sold around 530,000 units in its first week in the Japanese market, and 540,000 in its first week in the United States - only slightly ahead of the figures for the DS, although its shipment figures were also slightly larger.[br][br]Meanwhile, shortages of Sony's PlayStation Portable are already beginning to hit home in Japan, with the vast majority of retailers no longer able to take preorders ahead of Sunday's launch of the console.[br][br]Most retailers reportedly had queues exceeding the size of their launch allocations when they opened pre-orders, and were forced to turn customers away. Sony expects to ship only 200,000 units of the PSP at launch, with a further 300,000 expected by the end of the year.[br][br]The company claims to be focusing its manufacturing efforts on the new slimline PS2 console, which is in short supply at retail in both North America and Europe - with shortages believed to have knocked week to week sales of the console down by around 90 per cent last week in the UK.

Early reports said 230,000. That was soon bumped up to nearer 400,000. Then Japanese game magazine Famitsu - which is heavily associated with Nintendo - quoted figures upwards of 500,000.[br]We're waiting for the official figures to come straight from the Big N's mouth, but it's pretty obvious that Nintendo's DS has had a phenomenal launch in Japan. Combined with the 500,000 units it shifted during its first week on sale in the US, we reckon you won't have to look hard on the New York or Tokyo subways for someone to PictoChat with.[br][br]Possibly by way of thanks to the million-plus peeps who shelled out for the touch screen handheld - or possibly because it was going to happen anyway - Nintendo has announced release dates for some more eagerly anticipated DS titles. Of particular interest are a Japanese date for Catch! Touch! Yoshi!, the new Jap name for Yoshi's Touch and Go, and a US date for Wario Ware Touched!'s minigame madness. [br][br]And if you're still playing your SP (we admit it - we're still playing Pokémon Fire Red on ours) there's a few GBA titles in there too. No UK dates yet, mind - expect them to be made public as soon as the DS's UK date emerges from Nintendo's dark cavern of secrets.[br][br]DS release dates[br][br]Japan:[br]Catch! Touch! Yoshi!: 27th January 2005[br]Unnamed title: February 2005[br]Super Princess Peach: 2005[br]Touch! Kirby & the Magic: 2005 [br][br]US:[br]Wario Ware Touched!: 14th February 2005[br]Pokemon Dash: 14th March 2005[br]Yoshi's Touch & Go: March 2005 [br][br]GBA release dates [br][br]Japan:[br]Yoshi's Universal Gravitation: 9th December 2004[br]Mario Party Advance: 13th January 2005[br][br]US:[br]The Legend of Zelda : The Minish Cap: 10th January 2005[br]WarioWare Twisted: 21st March 2005[br]Mario Party Advance: March 2005

Hi - i came across this forum a couple of weeks ago and find it to be one of the best forums for the DS on the net.
I am not sure how many members there are but it does seem that most topics are kicked off by wraggster and more often than not there are no replies despite quite a few people reading the topic.
I think as a community (which i guess is what we are) we should take a more active role and contribute to the forum so that all interested parties can be kept upto date with the latest developments and learn from other people experiences.
I would urge people to start contributing to this site and make it even better. I am sure there are lots of people who visit the site who have questions about the DS so i would say raise them on the board and if you know the answer or have an opinion then offer it up for discussion.
I think the site overall is quite good - just need to get the members to be more active and make this site the number 1 'everything under one roof' site for the DS.

Hi - had a DS now for almost 2 weeks and bought mario 64.
Is anyone slightly disappointed with the DS? I have owned all the models of the gameboy and there was never any question of me going for the PSP.
I know its still early days but the first wave of games are pretty awful. I had mario 64 on the N64 - didnt much like it but thought would give it another go on the DS . . .hmmm still dont like it.
The touchscreen works very well with metroid and cant wait for the full version and goldeneye - but for mario i find it quite akward. I own an iPAQ PDA so am used to the touch screen concept was kinda sceptical with it on the DS. I think it can work but developers need to make sure that they dont just use the touchscreen because its there and add a little gimmick to a game - it needs to add some value to the whole experience.
The games out at the moment in my opinion are quite poor and even the next wave of games (ridge racer etc) have been getting relatively poor reviews. I think i am going to remain disappointed with the system for a few more months yet until goldeneye and zelda make an appearance.
Dont get me wrong i think the DS has the potential to do very well and although i have criticised it i think its more a software problem at the moment.
Anyway would be interested to hear other peoples thoughts and opinions on the DS now that they have one in their hands so to speak.
Rgds

Hi - i live in the Uk and have had a DS for almost 2 weeks . .i bought it from ebay along with Mario 64.
I am looking to get my hands on some new games and was wondering if anyone could recommend a company that is based in the UK who import games and actually have them in the UK to ship. I have searched the internet and found few companies websites that end in .co.uk but they seem to be US based.
All i want is a import company that have the games ready to ship from the UK rather than have to wait a week for something to get shipped from the US.
Thanks in advnace.
