Early reports said 230,000. That was soon bumped up to nearer 400,000. Then Japanese game magazine Famitsu - which is heavily associated with Nintendo - quoted figures upwards of 500,000.[br]We're waiting for the official figures to come straight from the Big N's mouth, but it's pretty obvious that Nintendo's DS has had a phenomenal launch in Japan. Combined with the 500,000 units it shifted during its first week on sale in the US, we reckon you won't have to look hard on the New York or Tokyo subways for someone to PictoChat with.[br][br]Possibly by way of thanks to the million-plus peeps who shelled out for the touch screen handheld - or possibly because it was going to happen anyway - Nintendo has announced release dates for some more eagerly anticipated DS titles. Of particular interest are a Japanese date for Catch! Touch! Yoshi!, the new Jap name for Yoshi's Touch and Go, and a US date for Wario Ware Touched!'s minigame madness. [br][br]And if you're still playing your SP (we admit it - we're still playing Pokémon Fire Red on ours) there's a few GBA titles in there too. No UK dates yet, mind - expect them to be made public as soon as the DS's UK date emerges from Nintendo's dark cavern of secrets.[br][br]DS release dates[br][br]Japan:[br]Catch! Touch!
