The clever technical innards of CasualGaming.biz mean that we can’t use the same headline more than once – something that’s making our jobs quite tricky considering the near daily announcements concerning yet more fitness titles for Wii.
This time it’s the turn of Black Bean Games, which has just announced NewU Fitness First Personal Trainer for the Wii, a title due for release this September.
In development by Lightning Fish Games, the game boasts the licenses of both the Fitness First fitness chain and You Are What You Eat. Alongside the physical workouts offered by the title, it will also include a range of healthy eating and nutrition tips.
Yes, Wii Fit has been a success. And yes, success breeds emulation. But seriously, how much room is there on the market for Wii fitness games?
In recent times CasualGaming.biz has covered no less than six separate fitness games on the Wii – Nintendo’s own Wii Fit, EA’s EA Sports Active (which charted strongly in this week’s UK games charts), Ubisoft’s My Fitness Coach, Atari’s Family Trainer, Deep Silver’s Jillian Michaels’ Fitness Ultimatum 2009 and Sega's Daisy Fuentes Pilates.
You can add to that 505 Games’ upcoming Mind, Body & Soul range and the possibility of a LazyTown-based fitness outing. And lest we forget Carol Vorderman’s latest foray into the health market – albeit on Nintendo DS.
