Activision's next Call of Duty, Black Ops 2, outing is definitely heading to Nintendo's Wii U.
Joystiq has spotted a demo booth for the hotly anticipated shooter, confirming that it will be released for the new console. The revelation came moments before Nintendo began simultaneous worldwide broadcasts revealing launch plans in the US and Europe.
A Wii U SKU of Black Ops 2 has been rumoured before and, unlike Modern Warfare studio Infinity Ward, Black Ops developer Treyarch has often ensured that its own Call of Duty outings come to Nintendo platforms.
No details have been given, such as release date or price, but it's a safe bet that Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be present at Wii U's launch.
Nintendo is due to announce new third-party titles during today's online press conferences, including official confirmation of Black Ops 2.
UPDATE: Black Ops 2 was indeed confirmed for Wii U by none other than Activision's Eric Hirshberg during Nintendo's conference in New York.
The Activision exec confirmed the new Call of Duty will run at 60 frames per second on Wii U – even when playing online, according to VG247.
The game will support the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, the Pro Controller and the Wii U GamePad. The latter will allow a second player to play co-operatively via the tablet screen, rather than splitting the main TV.
Activision will also release Skylanders Giants, 007 Legends, WipeOut 3 and Transformers Prime for Wii U - though oddly these were not on Nintendo UK's release list, which stretches up to March 2013.
