The whole corporate merger thing has been somewhat of a bust when it comes to the one area that everyone can agree is important: crossover games. But two recently merged gaming giants are looking to change that.
Tecmo and Koei, operating since April 1 under the unified parent holding company of Tecmo Koei Holdings, appears to be developing one or more games that merges elements from each sides' franchises. This revelation comes from the summer edition of The Nikkei Corporate Quarterly, an Japanese investor's information book. The listing for Tecmo Koei Holdings reads "Will release games that combine Tecmo and Koei's titles. The aim is to reach fans of both [companies]."
The listing does not get into the specifics, but it's enough to get us imagining the possibilities for Dynasty Gaiden, Romance of the Three Bowls, and Dead or Alive Inertia.
