Capcom has recorded modest sales growth for the first half of 2007, with revenues of JPY 31.1 billion (EUR 188.2 m), up 6.6 per cent for the period ended September 30.
However, net income was down to JPY 1.6 billion (EUR 9.6 m) or 16.3 per cent, with the company's arcade revenue dropping 68.9 per cent from JPY 4.3 billion (EUR 26m) to JPY 1.4 billion (EUR 8.4m) for the first six months of the year.
Console software was the key performer for Capcom, with the publisher singling out Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, Monster Hunter Freedom 2 and the 500,000-selling Apollo Justice Ace Attorney.
"This business segment was a pleasant surprise with the achievement of sales far exceeding our projection," said the company.
"One of the supporting factors for this result was the strong sales of the popular Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition mainly in the US and Europe."
Capcom expects to achieve JPY 78 billion (EUR 471.9m) in net revenue for the full year ending March 31, 2008, and JPY 6.2 billion (EUR 37.5m) in net income.
