Details on France's launch allocation of new handheld the 3DS have emerged, following yesterday's reports of possible UK and Germany shipment numbers.
French site Puissance Nintendo ('Nintendo Power') believes the territory will receive 100,000 3DS SKUs at launch - split evenly between the blue and black versions. While this has not been verified by Nintendo, the site has assuredGamesIndustry.biz that the data came from trusted sources in French videogame wholesale.
By contrast, rumour has it the UK will receive in the region of 185,000 units and Germany less than 100,000. Japan is confirmed to have received 400,000 units at launch, with a further 1.1 million due to arrive over March.
In total, Nintendo expects to ship 4 million 3DS units worldwide in March. If all the reported figures are correct, up to 1.89 million launch units remain for all other territories - including the US.
Puissance Nintendo also has breakdowns on numbers for the initial 3DS software line-up in France, which range from 150,000 units for Nintendogs+Cats (across three variants) to just 15,000 for Ridge Racer 3D.
The alleged game shipments in full are as follows:- 150,000 Nintendogs + Cats
- 60,000 Rayman 3D
- 40,000 Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition
- 40,000 Rabbids 3D
- 35 000 PES 2011
- 35 000 Asphalt 3D
- 30,000 Sims 3
- 20,000 Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell
- 20,000 Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon : Shadow Wars
- 20,000 Combat of Giants: Dinosaurs 3D
- 17,500 Pilotwings Resort
- 16,000 Lego Star Wars 3
- 15,000 Ridge Racer 3D
These, nor the UK and Germany numbers, have not been publicly confirmed by Nintendo or any retailer as yet.
