Despite being considered the ray of hope on the bleak Gamecube horizon following its shock announcement at this year's E3, rumours now abound that Super Paper Mario is to jump ship from the sinking console to the shiny new Wii.
The news comes from Editor-in-Chief of the IGN Wii-channel, Matt Casamassina, who, citing mysterious insider knowledge, states fairly explicitly that "Paper Mario will be headed to Wii and not GameCube".
With the moustachioed one going AWOL from Nintendo's Japanese release schedules, along with the reappearance of that other Nintendo regular in Zelda: Twilight Princess on the new console, it would appear that such speculation is not entirely unfounded.
As yet no official statement has been made nor any information on how the game will make use of the shift to the wavy controller.
