Luigi’s Mansion: 2 developer Next Level Games is more than happy pinning its flag to the Nintendo mast.
The Canadian indie is behind a number of Nintendo exclusives such as the Wii version of Punch-Out and Mario Strikers charged. It also developed the Wii versions of Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon and Transformers: Cybertron Adventures.
"We are doing only Nintendo products now," co-founder Jason Carr told Gamasutra. “We have worked with a lot of other companies before, and we're super happy with our relationship with Nintendo.
“There's no reason to look anywhere else. They keep giving us better and better IP to work with, and as long as we do our job and make good games for them there's no reason for us to venture out.”
Carr also highlighted the importance Nintendo places on developer happiness, adding: “Miyamoto-san… always asks us, ‘Is the team having fun? Are they having fun making the game?’
“It's really important that the team's enjoying themselves there, because they feel – and I agree – that if you're miserable it'll follow suit in your job.” Last year Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata said that: ““If we reduce the number of employees for better short-term financial results employee morale will decrease and I sincerely doubt employees who fear that they may be laid off will be able to develop software titles that could impress people around the world.” http://www.mcvuk.com/news/read/next-...onship/0126549
