In unofficially announcing a DS version of Mario Paint for the second half of 2006, Nintendo may have “inadvertently confirmed a Revolution version as well.”
“Nintendo plans to include painting, animation, and music functions in the game, which may be implemented together as one game or separated into three games like their Nintendogs series.”
More Wi-Fi connectivity is in the works, as “the new Mario Paint will be a community-building game and users will be able to share their creations with other DS users and Revolution users.” The same source claims that the Revolution edition will also have 3D-modeling capabilities.
Finally, an online version of Pictochat that really takes advantage of the DS’s stylus-based abilities (and the Revolution’s hand-held capabilities). We expect galleries of Paint-produced masterpieces to be posted to the web as soon as the games are released next year.
