Mario Kart 8 fans in the US will be able to test drive the game early at select GameStop locations this weekend.
Nintendo of America announced a collaboration with the video game retailer on Monday to bring a demo version of the Wii U game to more than 2,700 GameStop locations across the US in an event dubbed 'Mario Kart 8 Test Drive Days'. The demos will be open to the public from 12 to 4 p.m. local time on Saturday, May 17 and Sunday, May 18. Check here to find your nearest participating GameStop store.
All customers who pre-order Mario Kart 8 at the event, or show up having already pre-ordered the game, will receive an exclusive double-sided poster at no additional charge.
Edge labelled the game "as essential as Super Mario 3D World" and "the greatest Mario Kart yet" in its Mario Kart 8 review.
A Mario Kart 8 Limited Edition package is available to pre-order now ahead of the Mario Kart 8 release date of May 30.
Those who purchase the title then register their copy on the Club Nintendo website before July 31 will receive a code to download a free Wii U game. A number of Mario Kart 8 Wii U hardware bundles have also been announced.
