If you love your games not quite 2D and not quite 3D, Namco Bandai has your back. The company has announced via the latest Famitsu a a new entry in the Klonoa platforming series, and it's coming to the Japanese Wii later this year!
Fully titled Kaze no Klonoa Door to Phantomile, this Wii entry in the series is a remake of the original PlayStation Klonoa game. But the word "remake" should get a giant footnote here, as the visuals have evolved so far that you probably won't even recognize the game.
For its appearance on the Wii, Namco is also putting use the Wiimote to good use -- although not for any of that motion jive that you'll find in other Wii games. The Wiimote is held horizontally here, with the game making use of just the D-pad and 1 and 2 buttons. The 2 button is used to jump and fly through the stages. The 1 button is used to grab enemies and either throw them or use them to leap higher.
Outside of this, Namco is promising fine-tuned difficulty and possibly some other Wii-style elements.
Japanese Wii owners can look forward to Klonoa's revival on December 4.
