Tecmo Koei has announced a change of plan for the release of Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage 2.
Firstly the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions have been delayed a week and will now be released on February 8th, Polygonreports.
Secondly, and far more interestingly, the Wii U version will now be a digital-only release. That will be available on February 7th.
The decision adds further credence to Nintendo’s claim that it will be placing more emphasis on its digital offer on its new platform. It will also help add some variety to the Wii U’s current eShop offer, which has remained unchanged since the machine’s launch in late November.
It’s also possibly a good move for Tecmo Koei. Sales of the game are likely to be low in Europe. Taking the digital-only route on Wii U will be lower costs and possibly lead to higher sales as many consumers are desperate for some new downloads on the machine.
