Ubisoft has announced that it will release a Wii version of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Double Agent before Christmas.
Tony Key, vice president of marketing at the French publisher, said: "The Splinter Cell franchise has always translated very well across multiple platforms and we are confident that the Wii version will continue the tradition of maximizing the capabilities of each respective videogame console platform."
Few details of the game have not yet emerged, although it seems that it will be an upgraded version of the PS2/GameCube game (which means it won't have any online element). It will make some use of the Wii-mote though: Ubisoft has given the example of shaking the controller to help Sam Fisher pick locks.
