Cool gameplay in new Dragon Quest Wii Trailer

The official Japanese Dragon Quest Swords website has been updated with a brand new trailer for fans of the slime-filled series to drool over.

Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors on Wii lets you use the Wii Remote like a sword, battling enemies with slashing motions, as can be seen in the in-game footage within the trailer.

The swordplay looks pretty cool but little else is known about the game. Square Enix says that Dragon Quest Swords "is being developed with every aspect of the unique Wii hardware in mind", so we're hoping there'll be a lot more clever use of the control than just simple sword slashing.

Dragon Quest has been a massive hit in Japan for years, and with fantastic titles like DQ Heroes: Rocket Slime on DS and DQ: The Journey of the Cursed King being well received in the west, the series looks set for global stardom.

Dragon Quest Swords is headed for Japan later this year, while US and UK release dates are yet be announced.
