Best/Cheapest way about modding a Gamecube?

I've noticed a few GC chips are out on the market.

i think i even saw a clone or 2

what's the best and where is a good place to buy em' cheap?

I would also know where i can get the cheapest case that will allow me to place full size DVDs into the gamecube. i dont care for leds and what not, just for placing full sized DVDs in.
